The rooms are confortable and the bathroom is like a spaceship (but small) it serve its purpose... Asside from that, there was no garbage in our room, no mini bar, no closet... You put your clothes on a shelf... And the worst of all, at least in our room, there was always a smell of canabis and cigar thought none...

I stayed for two nights at the Ibis Stopera Hotel in Amsterdam, while on a business trip. The hotel was a classic Ibis - very simple but still nice, very clean and in good condition. The staff was friendly and very willing to assist. The only drawback I can mention is that the Hotel is a bid outside of the...

Stayed here for about 12 days for a convention (IBC) and I can definitely say that it made my first trip to Europe amazing. Location: After a few days of wandering about the area, I realized that it was walking distance to almost all the good places! Though it's not really at the central area, train and tram stations are...

Stayed here twice and will certainly stay again. Typical IBIS about 10 minute walk from Dam square. Facilities are what you would expect, good shower comfy bed, lets face it you are in Amsterdam how long are you going to be in your room? Breakfast is good if a little expensive, book the breakfast deal if you can. Supermarket around...

I was very satisfied for my new year's eve holidays. This hotel is in great location and position. Maybe if you have noisy room neighbors you will have some trouble to sleep but from the outside you will not hear a single noise. The bedroom is small but very confortable. A great not so much expensive solution.

The staff were lovely and helpful; they were always friendly and smiling away despite being busy. Rooms were of a nice size, though the design of the window desk was, somewhat, odd to be of great use (it was curved, thus the chair wasn't fitting in nicely). Locating nicely near to the city centre, while walking to it can be...

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
