We stayed here over the weekend of the Amsterdam marathon and really liked it. The room was lovely and the bed very comfy. The breakfast was large and included in our room, which we liked a lot! The location is really central and within walking of everywhere. We had earplugs (prepared for city centre accommodation) but actually found we didn't...

We traveled to Amsterdam for the first time and stayed at the Nova Hotel. Overall we had a nice stay but here's a couple of things that could use improvement. We arrived around 11:00 after 12+ hours of travel. Unfortunately you cannot check in until 2:00 and they will not bend on this. I don't know if the hotel was...

Outstanding location, u see the dam square once you step out of the hotel. It is pretty clean and perfect for sleeping over after a long day in Amsterdam. The rooms are clean and housekeeping are good and they offer a light breakfast. The front desk are very helpful and attentive. It is a non - smoking hotel yet very...

This hotel is 1/2 step up from a hostel. It was dirty overall, the floor grungy, and the breakfast meager. The night I checked in the front desk gentleman was attentive & helpful and offered a great restaurant suggestion. The morning front desk guy was indifferent. Fortunately I only stayed one night but that was one night too many. There...

I think the main bonus of this hotel is the location ! Just 2 minuets walk from dam square , few minutes walk from the main shopping street (calverstratt) ... The room is small but very clean. The only little things that ruined the experience for me were the stairs- too narrow and uncomfortable with your luggage .. And the...

Beds were comfortable, pillows were very very large and much too soft so they gave me a very stiff neck, plug sockets are no where near the mirror so take an extension lead, breakfast was very poor, and an expensive bottle of perfume went missing, when the receptionist was told she just told my partner "that doesn't happen here" and...

We stayed here for a night prior to starting a river cruise. The location was perfect as it was a short walk to cafes as well as shopping and the red light district. The breakfast buffet was very good with options like cereal, breads, yogurt and fruit. Unfortunately the building next door is being remodeled so there was a lot...

We stayed for one night. Hotel only about ten minute walk from central station. Easy to find. Easy walking distance to other locations. Staff friendly. Stairs are steep but there is a lift. However the lift is small and would not suit someone nervous about lifts or small spaces. Breakfast was OK. There was only a small selection of cereals...

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
