We have stayed at this hotel some 15 times over the last 8 years. The hotel is very close to the city centre and is perfect for exploring Amsterdam, however, it is tucked away and is extremely quiet. The rooms are comfortable and and staff are most helpful with nothing being too much trouble. Wouldn't even consider another hotel in...

Stayed only for 1 night, so can't say much. But as expected from this hotel, everything was good as expected in such a nice location. I thought food was bit pricey, but then its Amsterdam & Radisson ;)

I was given telephone bills , which were not made by me. The amount was very small but it was inaccurate and I thought that the front desk assistant, could have been a trainee was not getting the point. Usually they waive these charges if the guest tells them it it is a mistake. If you are paying a thousand...

We really enjoyed our stay here. We had booked a Junior Suite and it was far more spacious than I expected accommodating double bed, sofa bed, desk and a couple of lazy chairs to sit in. As a consequence, all off us felt like we could have our own space in the room. Breakfast was included in the room rate...

Stayed here for one night for business. Reception good & nice, had a single room on the 4th floor, one elevator was out of service the whole time, but waiting time for the other elevator still acceptable. Room was ok, comfortable, but a bit chilly for the time of the year. Because the heating was also the air conditioning, it...

Stayed in a suite for four days after our Baltic cruise. Great hotel with a good location. Quite street. Staff was welcoming and genuine. Mini bar was adequately stocked. Easy walk to Damn Sq and shopping streets. Hotel restaurant was actually well worth it for dinner. Really great meal. Breakfast buffet had more options then you could partake in and...

We booked the Radisson Blu in Amsterdam because we had stayed there before. The Hotel is lovely and in a very good location, but it is in need of a bit of tlc. The room we had faced the street and was very cold, we had to ask several times for the heating to be sorted out & in the...

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
