Friendly, modern hotel with a smallish but comfortable room. Breakfast was very good, with many choices, walking distance to Dam Square and the train station. Close to all the busy areas but not noisy.

The good: Rooms are a good size and well equipped Good quality beds Hotel has a nice modern feel Great location Good breakfast selection until 1130 The bad: Slow check in & slow service in hotel bar (regularly) Rooms not ready at 3pm when we arrived No complimentary water bottles provided in the room...never stayed in a hotel where this...

Hotel really central, located 5 minutes from Dam square and 2 minutes walking from the red light district but just outside the noise. The restaurant is good with balanced price and great service. The rooms are bigger than other in Amsterdam with conformable beds, perfectly cleaned and with free Nespresso coffee. Only downside are that my room has all windows...

The hotel is in an excellent location to see all the main attractions, all within walking distance of the hotel. We walked from the train station in Amsterdam too which took about 20 mins. The staff were very friendly upon arrival and throughout our stay.

This hotel is in a great location for exploring Amsterdam. We were very impressed with their customer service. The also have a great breakfast buffet. The beds were very comfortable. Really enjoyed the quaint bar.

I picked it because Radisson Blu hotels offers the comfort I want when traveling for work. I was a bit surprised when walking from the main station to the hotel I was all the time surrounded by the sweet smell of hash and weed: coffee shops all around, and I guess their main business may be with all the tourists....

It is a nice clean hotel, with spacious rooms, comfortable beds, excellent restaurant with really nice food and excellent service specifically the ladies responsible for the launch and dinner "they really transfer the feeling that they do care". The location of the hotel is one of its strongest advantages being in the down town area close to everything but still...

Comfy bed, comfy stay. The Superior room was big and had the view of the canal (just!) that we'd requested when we booked. If the only thing I can find to even slightly complain about was that we waited a bit long for a pot of tea at breakfast and that the bar was a little expensive (even for Amsterdam!)...

This was a beautiful hotel. From reading past reviews, I asked for a view with a view and was given a free upgrade with a beautiful room on the 5th floor. You are greeted with a crisp clean smell every time you walk into reception. I dealt mostly with Karen who was help, obliging and pleasant. the bath isn't huge but...

I will keep short and sweet. Great stay, Lovely Hotel and fantastic location. However upon arrival I was asked to pay for my room up front, so I did no problem. Later that night I was out in the Leidseplein area and decided to go to the cash machine. When the cash machine declined my request for money I was...

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
