After not being able to visit Okura due to the pandemic for almost two years , it was great to be back. How nice that many of the staff members were still at the hotel and it was even better to be recognized and welcomed back . One note of criticism is that the AC in the rooms is insufficient. I appreciate the attempt to have a greener operation but when old windows function as a magnifying glass , heating up the rooms and the AC cooling capacity is too low , it doesn’t matter how great the views are as you need to have the curtains closed to keep out the heat. Otherwise a great hotel with amazing F&B options.
Finally, after Covid relented, we returned to Amsterdam. We had lived in de Pijp and chose a hotel near our former apartment. The Okura surprised and delighted us. It is a beautiful oasis in an urban landscape, It is the staff that makes it. Carolina, the Concierge, is knowledgeable, kind, efficient and fun. She helped us find excellent restaurants and secured spots on wait lists, just in case. She is an asset to the Okura. (It goes without saying that Carolina’s English is impeccable.) The Spa, is wonderful. Chiaku is an amazing masseuse. I still can’t forget that experience. (I am smiling as I think of it.) Please consider splurging, if you can. It is worth it.
Wonderful hotel! We only stayed for one night, but it was an absolute pleasure. The staff are very friendly, from porters to reception and service. Rooms are minimalistic but classy. A beautifully set and decorated bathroom for two with plenty of amenities makes the room feel even more luxurious. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet at night. I would definitely recommend it. And one small thing to mention, they have 2 restaurants with Michelin stars and one with Michelin Bib Gourmand. We tried to have dinner at 2 Michelin Star Ciel Bleu, but it was fully booked, despite the set menu being 595 Euro! We ended up at Serre, which was splendid.
We stayed at this hotel on April 2022 and we absolutely love it. The rooms, the food, the atmosphere, everything was perfect. We would like to mention Luís Botas, he was extremely professional and did everything to make our stay even more special. Thank you all
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Okura Amsterdam. We booked the family package for 4 nights and really liked the adjoining rooms on the 15th floor (great view). Then we spent an extra night in 2 executive junior suites and had the chance to experience the exquisite! The entire staff was very professional, accommodating and friendly. The buffet breakfast was amazing (great choice and delicious food) and we really enjoyed the swimming pool and the Jacuzzi at the Nagomi Spa. We highly recommend the hotel!
