I have never written a negative review before but felt obliged to do so given the poor experience I received here This hotel is nowhere near 5 star standard. It was poor in so many ways. There was an obvious error in our booking of 3 rooms as one of them was for an extra day. The stated cancellation policy was 24 hours but when I tried to cancel the extra day 3 days before on arrival I was told that the policy was 30 days for a group. This was not made clear at the time of booking and the manger simply repeated “this is our policy” and refused to cancel or even offer any mitigation in the cost. The elevators are hopeless with lengthy delays for no apparent reason. Everyone complained about them. At breakfast there was a queue and I was informed there were no free tables and we would have to wait until other guests finished and left! The staff were poorly trained and supervised. Regularly forgetting orders and bring items to the wrong tables. There were numerous other issues and many other people I spoke to were dissatisfied with the hotel. If you are considering booking I would strongly advise you look elsewhere

Love the Okura brand. It is too far from the action in Amsterdam. Interesting history regarding that, but you can look it up if you’re inclined. Breakfast inadequate, maybe catering for loud people. Suits really loud on their proposals. Not for me.

Everything was clean, room maid service was very good and obviously high end and of course pricey. The reason for the 3 star was that on the the morning of our checkout we had a problem. We were due to leave at 7:15 to get to airport. I had to wash and dry my hair quickly. The dryer blewup and blew the bathroom fuse. Called the desk to let them know and needed a dryer quickly. Never came! Mentioned this at checkout and with an empty lobby said they were very busy...sorry.

I arrived after a Viking Cruise, and were told our rooms would t be ready until 3:00 pm. We went on a lovely walking tour, returned to the hotel at 11, and I was told “Happy Birthday, we have your room ready!” (It was my birthday… how did they know?) There were flowers and lovely chocolates in the room, which was in itself fabulous. They made it a memorable birthday in an incredible city… AND it didn’t rain!!!

Service and cleanliness is great! This is our home away from home. Our daughter lives in Amsterdam and is pregnant and is supposed to deliver at the end of September, we plan to stay here for about 3 months. We are in the panorama junior suite which has a beautiful view over the city and the canal. Love this hotel! Thank you Okura for your wonderful service

This hotel was in a great location in De Pijp and was SO accommodating for our family. Our daughter loved her small bed in the room and all the surprises the hotel had for kids, including the pool, of course.

The view was amazing, you could see the whole city just from your window. Also the lobby was astonishing to sit in and relax. One thing that's definitely worth mentioning is the service from the service desk with in specific one lady: Maki. She gave us a heartwarming welcome and was very polite and considerate. Those things make the difference. The cleaning roomservice was on point (towels, bathrobes and slippers. There were also small considerate cards with a sleepwell note. The Nagomi Spa (sauna, swimming pool and gym) could be more extensive, but it's okay for a short stay. The hotel is located at one of the most pleasant neighborhoods of Amsterdam with many nice bars and places to eat at walk distance (if you want). Service was 10/10.

I extended my stay only because of the lovely and attentive team members all over. I am a Marriott Bonvoy platinum and other premium loyalty member across hotel properties/ groups and this was my first stay at the Okura- was pleasantly surprised by the service levels !! To name a few stars that you have-Akash ,Ai, other ladies at front desk, Nigel and Caroline at concierge, were amazing. We were greeted with so much warmth every morning by Charlie and other friendly staff at breakfast, Marc at lounge ( young dude with so much energy :) Housekeeping team were attentive and responsive. Valentin ( Director of Engg and Innovation ) who received us as we checked in and Last but not the least- Simon Potter sorted a few challenges with so much ease and he is a true leader with great hospitality acumen. I would take this opportunity to compliment Michiel Roelfsema for creating a great team and culture and in a busy/ peak period to look into details. Every day and across outlets we were addressed by our name. Well done Team Okura, you are better than many leading hotels in Europe, only because of the superstars who make it happen day in and day out.

One of the best Pre-Post Viking we have ever done. Check in was easy. The elevator was swift, and with 4, never had to wait. The room was quiet and comfortable. The shower was hot and forceful. Breakfast was a vast selection of good food with good service. I loved the reservation idea. Front desk staff was extremely helpful and courteous. Easy walking distance to museums and Old Town (watch.the.bikes). Highly recommend.
