The Hotel room I had was the business room on floor 4 and it was lovely. I paid £279 for two nights from Friday to Sunday and my flight was £140 return with KLM from Birmingham to Amsterdan Schiphol airport - I paid an extra £7 for extra leg room, it was worth it. It was

We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights while in Amsterdam on a business trip. The hotel rooms are average but a very good size, very minimal toiletries available also. The hotel lobby was very nice, breakfast buffet was poor and not much variety. Hotel restaurant was average and

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your opinion regarding your stay at our hotel. We are sorry to hear that our breakfast, including a hot buffet, cold buffet, cereals, gluten free products, fresh orange juice squeezer and unlimited coffee and tea did not meet your expectations. The same holds for the fact that value of the food served was not worth the money. These comments will be communicated to our Food and Beverage manager and are highly appreciated. Overall we want to thank you for choosing our hotel as well as hope that you still enjoyed your stay and would give us a second chance in the future. Kind regards, Ben Breekveldt Management Assistant

What is it near, how far to Ann Frank house and the palace?
It is NOT near the Anne Frank House or the Palace. It is about a 10 minute walk to the metro station and then about 20 minutes on the train. At night the walk back to the hotel is on a road that is pretty deserted. I would not have stayed at this hotel if I had known how "out of the way" it was. I would stay in the city. This hotel was suburbs. If you stay in the city you can hope on buses to get you to most places.

Taxi cabs are usually parked right outside of the Mecure. The easiest way was have the concierge/front desk book you a taxi. I ordered a taxi from the staff and he was on time and I had no issues - took approximately 20mins due to traffic, though I gave myself extra time because of this. The cab driver got me there on time. I also had an early flight. Gave myself 2.5hrs - before taxi pick up anticipating traffic, check-in (I fly first class when traveling abroad) which is sufficient time to check in and have time to relax grab a bite or drink.

I can't remember the details but I went by train. Information at the stations is very good and most people speak very good English. You can find out about different fares. It is a longish walk from the train if you have heavy luggage and steps to go up and down. Email the hotel for information - they were very helpful before I arrived. In the mornings they used to have a free shuttle to the station.

The metro is a really good option. The museum district is much closer than the city centre and much better for eating out. Typically, we would get the metro to the centre, end up asking to the Museum district and then taking an UBER back to the hotel - I think it was only 7-8 euros ? Metro is really good.
