Really nothing luxurious or exceptional about this hotel. Concierge was very helpful. Staff in club level was not pleasant or accommodating. We arrived a few minutes after close of breakfast one morning and they would not allow us to even get yogurt - actually cleared the counter while we were trying to get some food. Room was small, noisy, toiletries...

Over the years have stayed at this property many many times primarily due to its location to the central station (5 min walk) and brand loyalty. Have noticed that the quality of the property with regards to rooms has been going steadily down in that it is starting to look its age. Particularly hallway areas on the floors where the...

We stayed here while visiting Amsterdam. Beautiful hotel in a perfect location. Just a short walk to Amsterdam Central station and to the first stop of the hop on hop off city sightseeing bus. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The lounge was also very nice.

My family of 4 spent 6 nights here. It's a great location to explore Amsterdam as well as other places in the Netherlands. It's a mere 7 minute walk from Central Station. Just take the train from the airport and walk to the hotel. Since Central Station is so close, you can easily go to other cities for a day...

Very close to the Central Train station. An easy walk, even with luggage. It's a fine hotel. Pretty much what you'd expect from Marriott's "better" brand. It's an upscale hotel, like any you'd find in America. It can be comforting and stale at the same time. Lacked any real character. I did have to negotiate with the desk staff....they tried...

I have stayed here many times previously and whilst there never used to be service problems, these are now becoming common on every visit - to the extent that I cannot recommend the hotel. I won't review this hotel in detail as my earlier reviews from last year can be read and the points about the excellent location of the...

We spent 5 days at this hotel and found it to be very well kept but specially in a very good location. You are right in the middle of Amsterdam and it is very easy to get to pretty much anywhere! Amsterdam is quickly becoming one of my favourite cities in Europe, it is so relaxed, arty and beautiful. The...

This hotel is well placed and close to all the major attractions. It has all the services a business traveler needs and has a good restaurant for evening meals. The breakfast was very good and I would happily book a return visit here.

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
