Great location, close to Central Station,a four euro single trip, buy from the ticket machines it's cheaper. Breakfast spread excellant, something for everyone. The coffee machines were a bit tempremental though. Nice room,121, with a super view. On two levels, small fridge. Bed was a wee bit on the hard side. No traffic noise even though we were at the front. Well glazed.

This was our first trip to Amsterdam and it was fantastic. Hotel was in excellent location of being close to the main attractions and being a short walk away from dam square was brilliant. Staff we're lovely and couldn't help you enough very attentive. When we plan a trip back to Amsterdam Die Port Van Cleve is the place we...

Hotel has a lovely frontage and is just steps away from dam square. It is easily walkable from central station and situated behind the palace. It is my opinion that money has been spent on the public areas such as the opulent dining room and authentic bar however my room was soulless and tired. I appreciated the fridge but the...

We really liked this hotel because of the location and the fantastic view from our room. This was a superior room on the second floor overlooking the Nieuwe Kerk. Other rooms were smaller and with backyard view, so go for the superior if you want an extra touch to your stay. Hotell staff were very attentive, we received excellent service...

The location of this hotel can not be better. The staff tended to our every need. Our room was large and comfortable... very good value for the money. There is a nice restaurant and bar attached... a great option if it's rainy or cold. Breakfast, if you choose to stay, is very good. There's a computer in the lobby free...

Five stars for location but two for rooms. We were given a very small room with twin beds pushed together. On request we were upgraded and were happy to pay the extra. Still with twin beds but more space. Beds are uncomfortable. Breakfast is very expensive. Far better to walk around the corner for continental breakfast at less than half...

Me and my best friend stayed here for 3 nights! We are both 26 years old and were utterly overwhelmed as to how attentive the staff were! They couldn't do enough for you and even there waiting to open the lift door when you were leaving and coming!! Location is perfect and rooms lovely-especially the shower! All in all a...

Had a great weekend in this hotel. Perfect location just off Dam Square. Great breakfast and plenty to choose from. Also included a free trip to the Diamond factory which was very interesting. Will definitely be back.

Neighbourhood Profile
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

Hotel Die Port van Cleve is a famous Dutch hotel located directly behind the Royal Palace & facing Dam Square. Due its central location, you will find many touristic and cultural sites within walking distance. Hotel Die Port van Cleve has a rich history.
