My girlfriend and I just stayed in the Bilderberg Jan Luyken from April 5th to 10th. The hotel is in the perfect location for visiting Amsterdam, right in the heart of the museum district, 2 minutes from Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh museum. It is also 1 minute from a tram/bus stop which is served by the 2 and 5,...

We visited here from the 3rd to the 6th of April. The hotel was amazing! We went to the hotel at 11am and luckily our room was ready! Room was clean and bed was very comfortable! The staff were excellent! They were able to answer any questions that we had and also they reserved some restaurants for us! We were...

Couldn't be happier with our 5-night stay with this small, well-managed and superbly well located hotel in Amsterdam's Museum quarter. Easy walking to museums and Voldelpark; tram to old city/central station a block away. Recommend paying a bit more for the "Superior" rooms - ours was spacious with a balcony overlooking the Rijksmuseum, which in addition to greater comfort also...

I had one night in the hotel. It is greatly located near Vondelpark which I enjoy running in. Staff was very friendly. I upgraded for a better room for just 20 Euro. The room was quite small and not the cleaner I have ever seen but the bed was comfort and bathroom is excellent.

This was a perfect choice for us - we were on a short one-night break and wanted a comfortable hotel, at good value, in a good location. The Jan Luyken is smart, clean and brilliantly located (on the route of 197 from Schipol (near enough anyway), next to Museums and Concert Hall and easy walking to the centre. The staff...

My husband and I stayed here with our 3 yr old in 2003. It was our 3rd trip to Amsterdam. It was a great choice and I'm glad to hear it is still getting good reviews. Quiet and lovely neighborhood, convenient for getting to city center and visiting nearby museums.

Me and my boyfriend payed 200 pound for a double room for my birthday weekend of the 6th March. When we arrived we had a warm welcome from the man at the desk, which was nice after a long 6 hour drive from the UK. Parking was easy and parked right outside, although it was expensive,we payed around 50 euros...

the hotel was lovely - it is right next to the museums and it was easy to then get on a canal boat and head off to other attractions. The staff were also very helpful, I needed something printed and the person in charge sorted it for me while I was out. A lovely stay.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
