For what was my first time in Amsterdam, and first journey abroad since the pandemic began, the Met Hotel was a wonderfully reassuring presence throughout the trip. Travelling with two friends and staying for three nights, the staff were wholly welcoming upon arrival and immediately helped us settle both in the hotel and in the city. Throughout our time in Amsterdam, the Met Hotel were always happy to assist, particularly upon checking out, when I was provided the name of the finest Stroopwafel peddler in the city, much to my delight. The room was comfortable feeling modern and spacious and though somewhat trivial, the room had undoubtedly the best shower of any place I have stayed in. I would say the touchscreen lighting/climate control panels were relatively confusing to operate but did not detract from the stay at all. Breakfast was reasonably priced with a satisfying selection of items to choose from, but for the more experienced hotel travellers, you may be used to larger, more varied offerings. A final note is that the walk from the city centre to the hotel took between 45 mins - 1 hour but does allow for ambles through the wonderful Vondelpark and Rembrandt Park. It felt a bit far out at times but we didn’t use any public transport so if you plan on using trams and the like, it would be absolutely fine. In summary, a wonderful hotel, well worth considering as an option if you are planning to stay in Amsterdam and want a reasonably priced hotel that feels more upmarket.

Beautiful, modern hotel 10-minutes' walk from the metro/tram/train station at Amsterdam Lelylaan station and more importantly 6 minutes from Schiphol airport. The hotel itself is beautiful with good size rooms (ours had a window) modern ensuite shower room with great shower and comfy large bed. Our room faced the road, so was a little noisy with light traffic/people chatting as they walked by, but we expected this, and it didn't interfere with our stay or our sleep. Internal rooms may be quieter, but not sure if they have windows? not an issue either way. The room has a safe and a digital tech lighting/air con system which you can also use to alert house-keeping that you need the room serviced. Decent size tv also which was great, and we availed of the hotel umbrellas for the rainy days. Only thing for improvement if possible - a fridge would be good in the room. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The food for breakfast included fruit, cold meats, cheese, cereals, breads and some hot elements too, eggs, sausage, bacon etc., and a coffee. tea self-service machine. Everything was fresh and tasty. We ate in the restaurant on two evenings - gorgeous food too. Would absolutely recommend this hotel as a clean, modern and beautiful hotel. It may be outside the city centre, but the tram, metro & train are very close, reliable and good value.

A modern and fresh hotel! The staff very friendly and warm, always a smile and ready to help in any way possible. Our room was quiet, dark and with a perfect temperature , thanks to air condition. Comfortable beds, a fantastic shower with a good water pressaure. Nice cleaning. The restaurant served delicious food, the plating was magic! Both for the mouth and eyes! At first we missed a small fridge in the room to be able to cool drinks, when needed. But then we discovered the vending machine with drinks and snacks, next to the reception! “ Grab and go” , just pay by card and take the chilled drinks you want to bring to your room. We want to thank everyone in the staff - in the reception, the cleaners , the chefs in the kitchen as well as those who served us in the restaurant! Thanh you all! Very satisfied guests The Guilletmots from Stockholm / Sweden

The hotel ensured they had everything arranged almost a month prior to our arrival at the hotel. We were a group of 11 people and we wanted a place where we could stay and meet throughout the week without having to relocate to another place. The Met Hotel was the perfect combination of comfort, infrastructure and lots of extra perks that a hotel can offer. They are brand new in a growing area of AMS, 4 min. walk from a bus stop or 9min walk from a major tram-metro-bus hub that can virtually take you anywhere. The neighbourhood is nice with groceries, restaurants and pharmacies at a no-more than 2-3 min walk. You also have a bike rental place at the corner. The Met Restaurant is a hidden gem, with delicious plates made to order and to perfection. Breakfast is also great and everything tastes fresh and made with care by their kitchen team and chefs. The bar is integrated with the reception, lounge and restaurant, everything is very cool and they have great drinks, beers and wines served at any time. You can seat at one of their lounge tables and order and pay from your cell phone, drinks and snacks will be there in less than a minute. The time my colleagues and I spent there was a very pleasant one and for the first time in a while I was sad to leave a hotel. Thanks everyone, you are great and doing an amazing job, we will see you again next year!

We were pleasantly surprised at the great quality of the hotel for the price we paid. It was the Dutch Grand Prix weekend so alot of places were overpriced. The hotel is in a very quiet residential area and there is a Lidl across the road. The hotel was only renovated two years ago and feels very new. Rooms are a 'unique' layout but good. We stayed in a room with a window to the front which was great. The beds were great, shower fantastic and lovely and clean. Staff were very friendly from taking our luggage early, checking us in, ordering food and drinks and to check out. It was a super experience. We didnt have breakfast in the hotel so cannot comment but bar food in the evening was very nice. You do need a travel ticket to get around. Metro is 4 mins from the front of the hotel (30 mins to Centraal) and 17 tram is 7 mins behind it (16 mins to Dam square). Once we figured it out, we might have well being in the centre. Overall, a great experience, very comfortable, welcoming and would recommend if you didnt mind using the tram to get around.

The hotel is quite new and you can see this everywhere; very stylish and comfortable rooms, nice lounge area, friendly and helpful staff. This was top. The breakfast is good but nothing to write home about, which is why I only give 4 stars. Another small thing is the light management in the room. I couldn't figure out how to cancel the automatic switch on of the lights (moving detector) in the bathroom when you visit it during the night. A light sensitive person wakes up by the lights going on. But then again, I didn't ask the staff how this could possibly work.

Modern hotel with a friendly staff and an incredibly comfortable bed. It was about a 5-10 minute walk from the bus stop and 10-15 minute walk from the train station. We were able to buy our 2-day public transportation passes directly from the hotel which was also very handy. I know some reviewers said there aren't many restaurants around, but we did pass a few on our walk to/from the bus that looked really good. We didn't end up needing to eat around the hotel, but we would have stopped at one of them had we needed to. There was also a lovely bakery, a shop with very delicious looking produce and a Lidl just across the street as well. My only complaints were the road construction that woke me up at 8:30 on Monday morning (which my husband slept through - I was quite jealous) and there is no door on the bathroom so the toilet is basically in a glassed in square and you can hear absolutely everything. Neither of these things would keep me from staying there again though as the rooms are so spacious and comfortable. And what a fantastic shower they have! They provide a combination soap/shampoo that's really nice because it doesn't have an overpowering masculine or feminine scent. I'm glad we chose a hotel that was further away from the city centre itself because it was much quieter and you didn't bump into people left and right like you did in the busier parts of the city. It only takes 20-30 minutes to get to the heart of the city and about 20 minutes from the airport via the Sprinter train. Side note: we were there during the train strike, so we paid around 25 euros for an Uber to the airport on our way out which also isn't a terrible price. Side note - the Amsterdam public tranpo system is the greatest I have ever experienced. Every country should emulate it. It's so easy to get around and we never had to wait long for the next train or bus to arrive. Just make sure you tap in and tap out after every journey. See you next time, Met Hotel!
