Don't know how about other travelers, but me and by boyfriend enjoyed staying in this interesting hostel. We stayed there in the end of the February for about 4 nights. Receptionist welcomed us and showed the whole hostel after showing our room, also told about inside rules and possibilities. It was first time in Amsterdam and in hostel at all...

Really my worst stay ever. Rooms are small and dirty. At the price of an hotel you have a old hostel really bad!!! Reception is closed from 9pm to 9 am The only good thing was the common area. Never again in my life!

I stayed here for a little over a week and had a mostly good experience. The facilities were good, nothing to complain about. The beds and rooms were nice and regularly cleaned. The hostel put on special events every night which were fun for a solo traveler like myself. Unfortunately, about half the nights I was there, there wasn't enough...

Having stayed at Cocomama in Amsterdam for a total of 4 nights for a belated birthday celebration, I have experienced many parts of this hostel and have positives and negatives to my overall experience. Negatives: My bookings consisted of 3 beds, booked through hostel world. Prior to arrival an email was received explaining that myself, my sister and my friend...

Great location, near from Heineken Experience and Albert Cuypmarkt. We stay in a 4 bed dorm and it was a good room. Beds are very comfortable and clean. The room was also quiet to sleep to. The kitchen is big and well equipated. The staff was great and very friendly. They know a lot of good local things to do/go....

Great location, most things were within walking distance, or at least close to public transit. The staff was incredibly nice, welcoming and always gave good recommendations on local places. We were in a 4 bed mixed dorm and the beds were nice and clean, the shower was hot and the room had a cool theme! Good place to talk to...

What a cool spot! Staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. Definitely a place to meet fellow travelers. We only got to stay one night, our last after a long backpacking trip. But we still had a great time! Also in a hot young neighbor with good bars and food. I HIGHLY recommend it.

I stayed here with some friends for 4 days and we all loved it! The rooms are themed which adds so much character and makes the stay a bit more fun. Our room had its own bathroom which was really new and clean, and was even cleaned again each day to our surprise! When we first arrived one of the...

Our room at Cocomama was perfect! The curtains for the beds and the bathroom inside the room were both very nice. The common room downstairs was perfect for hanging out and even grabbing a small bite for breakfast. We also really liked the Red Light District tour that the hostel offered for only 10 euro.

Coming in from the rain, we received a warm and friendly welcome from Tanya, immediately making us feel right at home. Was delighted to find out we had the Royal Suite (with the round bed!!) when we arrived. Had friends staying in shared dorms and private doubles - all rooms were uniquely decorated and well equipped. The hostel was happy...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Cocomama offers the best of both worlds in a super central location in Amsterdam. The luxury and comfort of a hotel and the atmosphere (and budget) of a hostel. The rooms are all Holland themed and range from private doubles to 6-bed dorms (and everything in between). You might share a bathroom in some of the dorms, but those luxurious mattresses and feather duvets are everywhere. Even more importantly, at MAMA, you're not on your own. Travel stories are shared, as is the dinner table. It's a place where you'll make friends and hang out with other international trotters alike in the private garden, living room, cinema, or cook dinner in the fully-equipped kitchen (perfect to keep costs down). And if that doesn't keep you busy enough, the staff organises tons of activities, and Joop (the adorable house cat, a.k.a. man of the house), is there to get cuddled 24/7 too. ... more   less
