We really enjoyed our 3 nights at this hotel. Service was great. All staff were super friendly and helpful. Coffee bar in the lobby was a nice start to the day. A number of restaurants nearby. Easy access to central by tram. Highly recommend if you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel with very comfy beds
Very comfy hotel, stylish interior and friendly staff! Great experience! Check in mail as easy, the room was clean and tidy with big windows. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good location with a short work into the town. Lovely coffee and restaurants nearby. Definitely recommend!
The staff were great. The room was small, I guess to be expected. The room was never cleaned in a week. We had to ask for extra towels after the 3rd day. Shower water went all over the floor, which used up one of the 4 towels you get just to stop slipping on the floor. Nothing on the TV if you are not dutch, except BBC worldwide. Breakfast is from the tyrestation, a minutes walk but it was very basic, veggie, and a violent coffee machine that ruined a few t-shirts! Overall, OK value, not to far by tram from the centre and some great places to eat nearby..
We got this hotel as part of a package with Eurostar and were very pleased with it. Its location in Vondelpark, is a little bit out of he city centre, but this isn’t an issue as there is a No 17 tram, that runs every 8 minutes and takes you back into the city centre and Central Station. It is also right next to the huge Vondelpark itself, which is definitely worth a visit. The hotel is clean and modern throughout, reception staff were all friendly and helpful. WiFi is free and the signal was good. Bed was very comfortable, large bathroom with a walk-in shower and adequate plug sockets. One niggle though, there wasn’t any air-con in the room, I know this is an eco friendly hotel, so maybe goes against their ethics, but it is an issue when the room is too hot to sleep in. We requested a fan, which did help a bit but you can’t open the windows very wide either, so it was very warm and stuffy. Maybe a re-design on the windows so that they can be opened fully? (at least at the top, is its a safety issue) Would recommend and would have given 5 stars if the room hadn’t have been so hot!…
We stayed here for just 2 nights. It’s far out from the city center but close to a metro. I liked the quieter feel but you are gonna have at least a 10 min ride to get to things. One thing I didn’t like was the check in process. You have to check yourself in and the staff member acted so non caring about our arrival that I was wondering if it was even a hotel. However this process at check out when we left early was a breeze! The rooms are nice and the beds and pillows awesome! The breakfast was just ok. I would maybe save my money next time and go somewhere close by. All and all good stay.
Location is convenient within walking distance to museums. Vondelpark is next door with fresh air and green scenery. Many coffee shops and restaurants nearby, even a supermarket. Without the big crowd of tourists with a local feel. Bus is almost at door step. Great value. Friendly and helpful staff. Get the room with balcony and air conditioner if possible. Will come back.
We got a decent deal on booking.com for our stay at Conscious Hotel Vondelpark. The room was a good size with a very comfortable bed plus small table and chairs. The cafe did good teas and coffees and if required, their sister hotel did breakfast. (We went elsewhere for breakfast as €16 is too much for breakfast!) The staff were very friendly and we were able to hire bikes to explore the city (€15/day one and then €10/day thereafter.)
I booked this via EuroStar for a long weekend in Amsterdam. Although it is well out of the city centre, it is on one of the main tram routes, so travel into the city is easy. A bit surprised on arrival by the extra costs required - yes, I am used to having to pay local taxes on arrival, but they were much higher than I had expected. But the room was very comfortable, and I have no complaints. If you have a package which includes breakfast, then this is served at their sister hotel, but it is only a few doors away - one minute walk. I would happily use the hotel again.
We were very impressed by how friendly and helpful the front desk team were, whether arranging to drop our bags off early, arrange bikes or for us to leave our bags on our last day we were met with smiles, a friendly chat and efficiency. The room was very comfortable, huge bed, loved the wicker shades for a soft, warm light, super clean, excellent shower with a view onto the inner courtyard and living roof, so very quiet. The door from the lift to the corridor would benefit from a soft close or a very prominent sign asking guests to close quietly ... But then some people just don't seem to hear a door slamming behind them. We enjoyed our morning trip next door to the Fire Station for a very good breakfast selection of an excellent quality, phat mushrooms and freshly scrambled were particularly delicious ... Though they might want to rethink/ relocate the coffee/juices etc away from the food, as quickly created a bottle neck of queuing hungry guests. Location of hotel is ideal. Away from the busy centre but easily reached in the No 1 & 17 trams direct to Central Station. With the beautiful Vondel Park around the corner for relaxation. Easy walk into Jordaan, Oud Zuid or de Pijp even quicker cycling. Thank you for a great stay !…
I have been to Amsterdam about 5 or 6 times. I learned that Amsterdam is a rather expensive city to visit in Europe, for small to mid budget travelers. My visits also taught me how to shop for a hotel in Amsterdam. I have chosen to stay here twice, Nov, 2018 and Aug, 2019, for many reasons. The first reason is cleanliness. If you decide to stay in the central part of the city, you will find many hotels and places are not very clean. Amsterdam sits below sea level so get ready for mold. Conscious Hotel Vondel had little to no mold in the rooms I have stayed. Second reason is location. If you want a loud, party, central hotel, Conscious Vondel is not your choice. This hotel sits in a residential area on Overtoom Street. There is a tram stop 2-4 minutes walk. Third is price. Even though you can stay in a castle in Ireland for the same price, this is a good fair price for Amsterdam. Remember Amsterdam is not a cheaper European city visit. Enjoy Amsterdam wherever you stay.…
