The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, particularly Lauren. Nothing was too much trouble. We were able to print our flight check in documents and leave our cases after check out. The room was small but functional but soundproofing was poor and the shower cubicle tiny. The room was very hot even though it was cold outside and there was...

When myself and my partner stayed in The Muse we arrived late and had to be up very early for important appointments in Brussels and Amsterdam. We needed an iron for our clothes, taxi's arranging, printing of documents and early breakfasts 05h45. Victor met us at reception with complimentary prosecco and dealt with all our needs there and then. I...

Accordingly with European hotels, the rooms are quite small but very well equipped. The front desk staff is really friendly and helpful. We stayed at a 1st floor room with street view, which by the way is far away from noises and transit. I'd stay here again for sure

The Muse Hotel is a exceptionally friendly small hotel close to the main museums. The Rijksmuseum is an easy 10 minute walk away. Our bedroom was rather small but the canteen area was available at all times and the staff were very helpful when we took back a delicatessen meal. From the hotel it took less than an hour to...

Stayed here for 3 nights last week and we were pleasantly surprised. Everything looks brand new, staff are really friendly. Free glass of bubbly on arrival free mini bar which is stocked with no alcoholic drinks and chocolate daily plus free coffee in room and in the lounge area. Nice quiet side street but loads of tram stops at the...

A very nice and cosy little hotel, in a quiet residential street. I stayed in a very small room but comfortable and fully equipped, everything was running well and functional (including the safety locker, in the bed basement!). Nespresso coffee complimentary service in the room, free coffee in the breakfast/common room. Personnel at the reception very nice and cooperative. The...

Stayed for a few nights whilst exhibiting atRai. Location is good for that as you could walk if you wanted. Probably because there was a show on, the prices were too high for what the hotel is. The radiator in the room was hotter than a furnace and didn't seem to be adjustable, so had to sleep with that and...

Very personable staff. Nothing too much trouble. Generous availability of free non alcoholic beverages. Clean and quiet room tram 5 into town very frequent. Convenient for all sites despite being a little way out of centre. 197 from airport 5 euros. Disembark museumplein then 5 min walk. Supermarket here and bakers round corner from hotel. Would use again. Downsides: small...

This hotel is perfectly located, right across the street from the tram stop & airport bus stop a few minutes around the corner. The tram goes direct to the centre which is amazing. The hotel is very good, the room was spot on, maybe slightly on the small side, but it did us for what we needed. Our room was...

Great location if you are going for museums. 10 minuets walk to the Rijksmuseum, Van Gough etc. The tram is right at the end of the street and takes you straight in the the town centre in 15 minuets. Friendly staff, helpful with restaurant bookings. Lovely breakfast room and good breakfast options (hot and cold). Clean room, comfy bed with...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
