Arrived 24th November knew we was going to arrive early, my boyfriend emailed ahead and asked if we could check in early. Arrived around 11.30 and the gentlemen at the front desk was lovely and offered us a seat in the restaurant area. First impressions very clean and so cosy. Free tea and coffee on arrival whilst we waited. Checked... More

This is a boutique Hotel. Very compact and a very good breakfast offering. Great Staff and very close the tram stop. It is also just a short walk to the museums. Van Gogh is a must see. Wonderful restaurants within walking distance.

The hotel is very close to a tram stop, so it's very easy to get to the city centre in few minutes. Little but welcoming reception, nice service, possibility of bike rental. Our room was cosy, had enough space and also a balcony. The bathroom was really ok and had a little tub. The added value of this place was... More

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Great little touches like the free beverages in the room and also available in the lounge area. The neighbourhood is great and well located. The staff were very accommodating and let us store our luggage for most of the day after we checked out. The room was small but well presented and clean.... More

Great service from day 1 when we arrived early and dropped our bags at reception. Check in was easy, staff were friendly. Borrowed an adapter for free after forgetting my own! Free glass of prosecco on the first evening (we got 2 each!) from reading reviews I expected the rooms to be tiny, they were sufficiently big enough. Room had... More

Me and my partner have just returned from five nights here. Free glass of prosecco on arrival. I mentioned before arriving it was our anniversary and we entered our room to see two towel swans and a heart out of real flower petals also with a cute note. Also a plate of chocolates. Yummy. Lovely touch. Location is brilliant for... More

Negative: Rooms are very very small; Lack of hangers in the bathroom, one hanger for towels which is very up, you need to be 2 meter tall in order to put the towel. Next the sink, no hanger for the hand towels, nowhere to put them; Next to the door should be a hanger for coats, when raining is pretty... More

We spent 4 nights at The Muse and enjoyed our stay. Our room,103, was small, but well equipped. The small balcony would be great in summer, but going early November we didn't use it! The room was warm despite the cold weather. Again the bathroom was small, but well equipped. The bed was large and very comfortable. All the staff... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
