The guy totally screw us. We were in Amsterdam and we came directly on Friday to the the hotel which was free on booking.com and several others websites. When we came, the hotel was available for 2 nights until Sunday and we pay for it upfront. It was quite expensive at the beginning (he firstly asked 160€/night) but the guy...

Slept here for 2 nights while visiting Amsterdam with a friend. It might have been ok if it had been cheaper. Pretty nice location but.... uncomfortable beds, bare acceptable cleaning, very noisy room with a cardboard door as the only separator to the shared kitchen. All in all a ok hostel... just too pricy..

The rooms are very very small, there is no riverview, the stairs to get to your room are so steep youll struggle with a decent lugagge, you can hear every one on youre floor even when they go to the toilet wich again is very small 50 cm ×50 cm max!!! Ouside there were -5 degrees and the receptionist (or the owner) turned...

We (I Did) stay there for the second time. For sure not the last. Great room what started with a warm welcome. We came by train and Tram and a short easy walk we where there. This time no Amstel view but that was no problem at all. We love the room and use of the kitchen with a senseo...

For the price we paid for Amstel Riverview I would have perhaps expected an en-suite bathroom, air con, walls where the paint isn't peeling off, beds that don't feel like they are about to collapse and someone to clean the room every day - if we had been staying in most other cities. Amsterdam however is an expensive place to...

My mother and I visited Amsterdam for a couple of nights, and stayed at Amstel Riverview. The accommodation was very close to the city centre, and all of the city attractions were easy to get to. Our room was clean and bright, with a wonderful view of the river. Our accommodation host, Tony, was very friendly and extremly helpful, and...

Had a very nice and clean room, and we felt very welcome. Everything (house rules etc.) got explained well by the staff (owner?). Only bad thing was that Wifi didin't reach to the upper levels where we had our room.

I booked a room here for the last night of a 6 day trip. I emailed them the day before we were due to fly to request that they make our twin beds as a double. They replied to tell me that our room was under repair and would be unavailable. Would they have contacted me if hadn't have contacted...

We've booked this guesthouse as we were travelling to Amsterdam on a budget and thought we only need somewhere to rest during the night. I have read the reviews and pics on here before I booked therefore I expected the shared bathroom and steep stairs! But Jeez, what I didn't expect was to climb those Dutch stairs as soon as...

Staying in De Pijp

Neighbourhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
