Classic, retro and elegant. Step inside Hotel Mercier and feel at home. History relives at the straight friendly hotel with 48 rooms. The authentic style is showed in the interior. Think of Art deco, robust wooden furniture with a touch of velvet and rich prints. The lobby is built in style of the old library and feels like a second home. The monumental building on the Rozenstraat 12 at a unique location at the Jordaan in Amsterdam is the place to be for sleeping, dining, working or meetup with locals. The philosophy of Helena Mercier, founder of ‘Ons Huis’ was to bring the neighborhood together, learn from each other and enjoy time together. Hotel Mercier will capture this in our heart.

The Mercier is a really beautiful hotel, situated just in from the canal. It is very close to The Anne Frank Huis and a ten minute very picturesque stroll to Dam Square. The reception areas of the hotel are stunning with high ceilings, beautiful moulded cornices and an eclectic mix of deco and modern pieces make this a unique boutique hotel. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Angelina in particular was a standout member of the reception team. Breakfast was buffet style with continental, hot items, croissants, Danish pastries, yoghurts and locally produced jams and granola. The breakfast room was very lovely and the food was great and of a very high quality. We stayed in a garden room which was very eclectic and had a comfortable big bed, sofa and aircon. My only comment would be maybe replace the carpet which was a little tired. Apart from that, lovely big, big fluffy towels and a rainfall shower that was blissful. The hotel bar was closed during my stay which was a shame as it was another stunning area but it did not impact on the trip as there are plenty of bars and restaurants in the area. The only noise I heard by night were the church bells from across the canal. A wonderful hotel, that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

We stayed here for 4 nights. The location was perfect, not too far a walk from Centraal. It’s also only 10 mins from Leidseplein. Although very central, it’s also really quiet and peaceful. The Jordaan area is beautiful with its markets and laid back atmosphere. This was our 8th trip to Amsterdam and first time we stayed in this area. All of the staff were so friendly and accommodating. The bar wasn’t open, however, we were allowed to take our own food and drinks into the bar and the staff offered us glasses, ice, plates and cutlery. They went out of their way to make sure we had the best possible holiday. We had breakfast included which was delicious. Plenty of fresh fruit, granolas, hot drinks, hot and cold foods, lovely fresh bread, eggs, salmon etc. The room was lovely and spacious and very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

The hotel is situated in a great location to explore Amsterdam. It has a nice character and a retro ambience. The hotel rooms are quite nice. Most of the staff are friendly but not all. The individual on the reception when we were checking in was such an example. He was arrogant when asked a question and half of our staff were left in the reception when we came back at the hotel as our room was not ready yet. We have booked a duplex suite with a double room but ended up having a twin bed that no one notified us or asked us. There is no fridge at the room to store things or closet. No water bottle is offered as we were told that the water from the tab is drinkable. Overall not very impressed with the services provided and the price paid.

I was given a garden room with a sitting area, a large comfortable bed. with the bath off around the back had a beautiful walk-in shower. The staff at the front desk were very friendly, and very helpful. I was visiting Amsterdam for the first time and was there for Pride Weekend. The staff was eager to chat with me and made me feel at home. The location of the hotel for Pride events was excellent and it is walking distance to many desired spots. My stay in Amsterdam and at Hotel Mercier was too short, I want to move in!

The hotel is in a great location, having to cross only 4 canals to get into Dam Square. Absolutely fine for somewhere to rest your head after a day in the city but no more than that. Having booked our holiday through EasyJet, their website did not make clear what an ‘inner’ room is (see picture) so we had no direct sunlight and the window was very strange. Toilet was very dark as other clients commented and the lack of door on the shower room left no privacy where I was staying with a friend. Had to live out of suitcases due to limited hanging space. The beds were comfy but having a dim room, more indoors than expected wasn’t what I was looking forward to from a boutique hotel. I probably would not stay again.

Honestly: we had much higher expectations of this hotel. Upon arrival they gave as (as they told us) a 'nice' garden room. We found it a disgusting (insects crawling over the floor, smeared carpet on the floor, uninteresting decor) room (room was not part of the main building but a seperated building at the back). After making a complaint about the room we received a room in the main building. This was better, but ... now with a permanent smell that made our stay unpleasant. The interior decor was better but also here a smeary carpet to walk on ... Breakfast was ok, but don't expect 'the better choices', just basic things. No, we don't come back ... ways to expensive for what you get.

Great location in the Jordaan area, just a very short walk off Prinsengracht. Lovely building with a very nice reception area, bar and breakfast room. Friendly and helpful staff. In Amsterdam for a family wedding and had booked three comfort rooms. The room my husband and I were allocated was very disappointing. It was really small with nowhere to hang or put clothes apart from a folding screen with some hooks on it which was quite bizarre. This screen was bolted to the floor on one side but this did not prevent it from partially tipping over. Asked if we could change rooms but there was nothing else available. One of our party was allocated a deluxe room which was quite spacious with a seating area. The third room was also very small but at least had a hanging space. Staff in hotel were keen to stress that it was a boutique hotel and all the rooms were different. However it is ranked as a four star hotel and the term ‘boutique’ should not be used as an excuse for a lack of basic facilities. One would assume when booking a hotel room that there would be somewhere suitable to actually put your clothes apart from in your suitcase on the floor or on a very dodgy screen. The bathroom was in an alcove in one corner of the room with a good shower and washbasin. No door on bathroom. Toilet was in a separate, incredibly dark room (in the bedroom) - one small light on the skirting board (served no purpose) and a really dull overhead light. This has been commented on in quite a few reviews. This hotel could be very good if the management took on board some of the comments guests have made in order to improve their facilities.

We stayed at the Hotel Mercier in Rozenstraat for a few nights. It's a nice hotel in a convenient location, a short walk to the central area of Amsterdam. Plenty of shops, restaurants, cafes and canal boat trips nearby. Vondel Park museums a short tram ride. The building is attractive, our bedroom was clean, tidy, quiet and adequately furnished and equipped; staff are pleasant and friendly. There were two small problems, which wouldn't stop us going again: no bar service (due to staff shortages); we couldn't get decaff-coffee in our room. Unexpected bonus was being able to get some BBC TV and radio programmes in the room.

We stayed here on our trip to the city, and were very happy with the hotel. Going by some of the latest reviews some have been disappointed, however I can only comment on our stay. We had a beautiful, spacious and spotless room on the second floor of the main building. The view wasn’t good but other than that the room was perfect. We had everything we needed and plenty of space. A special mention has to go to Kirsten, the loveliest receptionist ever. She made us feel very welcome and does the hotel proud. Not that we needed it but as other reviews have mentioned the hotel bar rarely seems to be open. The hotel is in a good location, within walking distance of most things, including Central station which is about a 20 minute walk away. Our room was very quiet and we were never disturbed
