First and foremost this hotel is immaculately clean - the bathroom especially. This reflects on the efficiency of this family run hotel which is in an old townhouse close to one of the canals. It's a short hop on the underground from the central station, practical for us when coming from Schipol Airport. Equally it's in a quiet but safe...

I was pleased to find that this hotel is just a 15 minute walk to central Amsterdam or just two stops on the metro from Centraal station. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was standard continental fayre - with all items replaced frequently. The room was clean and modern, if a little noisy due to the trams outside -...

This hotel is owned and run by a family. They do all the front end work themselves and they try their best and succeed big time. The rooms are comfortable if a bit small. Bathroom was modern and beautiful. Jin at the front desk couldnt have been more helpful. Its a minute from the metro and bus and tram lines...

The rooms are small, but clean and nice. The hotel has an elevator which is good for the luggage. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is always free Internet available in the lobby. The breakfast is for the standard of the hotel very good. The hotel is perfectly located in a safe area right next to the tram...

The hotel is clean and well located with a metro station just nearby. The hotel was quite expensive but the hotel and services were not very good. There was no AC in the room but it was quite hot. The room and bathroom were quite small. The ventilation in the room was poor. The beds were not very confortable.

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
