This was our second stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was at the rear of the hotel and was clean, comfortable and reasonably quiet. The bathroom was a little on the small side but was very good. There was a safe in the wardrobe for storing valuables. We made an additional payment for the...

I had a quiet double room with a balcony at the back of the property. Basic decor, but clean and well-equipped with a comfortable bed and little noise. Breakfast was also a little basic. Staff polite and helpful. Tram and metro stops nearby so it was easy to visit all major attractions and central enough to walk to many. Quite...

The location is really good. 100yd walk yo the metro which gets to central station within 3 stops and only takes 10mins. Also only a 15min walk to the Heineken museum, ice bar, flower market etc. The hotel is OK. Could just about make it through 3 nights. Beds are twin and not the best, rooms basic but expected for...

My jewerly were stolen from my room when I was out exploring the city. The hotel didn't take any responsibility and didn't help me investigate the case. They did not take my situation seriously. Good location though.

This hotel is in a great location, just 3 stops from central station. We booked a triple room for three nights and it cost €840. My sister booked a double and it cost €560 so we got charged €280 for the third person. Only it was not a triple room!! It was barely big enough for the double bed but...

This hotel was pricey for what it was, but accommodation is expensive in Amsterdam. The positives are that it is conveniently located near a metro station and room are adequately sized. Bathroom facilities good, shower worked well, nice quality towels replaced daily, iron and board available in every room, and a good hairdryer. Staff were generally very helpful and pleasant,...

Its a 2 minute walk from Tram lines 7 and 10 and a 5 min walk from line 14. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfy. There's a kettle...

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
