Staff were not overly friendly, the room itself was decent but there were a few stains on the bed... And in the morning there is some school across the road which makes it very loud!! The location itself is in a quitter area.

I slept in the hostel, and I found it absolutely wonderful: the rooms are the same of the hotel, you just have to share them with other people. Very clean rooms, comfortable beds and en suite bathroom. Just in front of the Van Gogh museum and close to the Amsterdam Diamonds museum, the "I Amsterdam" letters and the Rijksmuseum, it...

The first day we arrived we were given two beds in a dormitory of 6 girls, however not sharing the same bunk even though we had booked months in advance. There was a nice shower however the hook for the shower head was broken so we had to hold it in order to wash. The second night was a bit...

Recently stopped at the hostel van gogh which is attached to the hotel. Friendly staff from the start nice and clean throughout. If clostrophobic don't use life its tiny but there is a lot of stairs. We was on 3rd floor and its a bit of a climb. The room was a shared room with 4 bunks. Ideal for backpacking...

I stayed in an 8 bed dorm and it was a fairly good budget and clean. However booked through a hostel website and when we turned up there was a hidden fee which the hotel made us pay. It is also quite far away from the centre, but right next to the museum district.

I really liked the hotel! I stayed at the youth part and it was a nice experience! The hotel is very clean, the beds are comfortable and the room have individual lockers! The breakfast is good for a hostel and it's little additional cost! The location is nice, not far from the centre and right in front of Van Gogh...

Enjoyed my stay. Clean, quiet and comfortable room. Across the street from the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum. Tram near hotel goes to and from the airport which I would recommend rather than going through Central Station. If you are looking to be close to Red Light and Central Station, it's about a 30 minute walk or one tram ride away....

The hostel is perfectly located, just across from the Van Gogh museum. Walking distance to everything. I booked an 8 bed room with ensuite bathroom on the 4th floor (there is an elevator) and it was comfy enough: 4 bunk beds each has a charging outlet, a light and one safe/person. There was a TV in the room though I...

The hotel/hostel is situated near the Van Gogh and Stedelijk museums, which is also near the IAMSTERDAM signage. The hotel is in a particularly quiet area but is close to trams which are easily accessible from most places. The ticket was approx 24 euros for two days and it was a life saver. The hostel is quiet, therefore I wouldn't...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
