I would give this a 3.5 rating (but sadly you cannot). Even though we were on the top floor and had to navigate the creaky and very narrow stairs the room was just as i expected. The sheets & bathroom were clean and it was a pleasant stay. Breakfast was simple and there was plenty for everyone to eat. If...

We didn't even get to stay here as they had cancelled our booking without notifying us!! We did not know it was cancelled until we arrived at the "hotel". We booked another hotel around the corner I was glad we did not have to stay here as it reminded me more of a hostel instead of a hotel...it was small...

I didn't have too high expectations for the hotel room, since it was quite cheap. the bed had a "whole" in the matress, the heater wasn't working properly and that's why it was too hot. Sheet had stains.

It was a bargain to pay only 126 euros for two nights here considering how high prices are in Amsterdam. But I regret it. I would have preferred to pay more somewhere else. Even though the location was very good (only 3 minutes away from a tram/bus station that would take us to the city center in 7 minutes and...

Avoid this hotel like the plague. We booked for our son for 5 days and paid I advance by credit card. He was preceding us to Amsterdam so when we arrived we phoned the hotel to see if he was in and was told that he was a “no show”. We obviously were extremely worried as we did not know...

Stayed here at the start of the year and had a great time with no problems, good location, price and room, couldnt have faulted the trip all round. However I am returning next month for an even longer stay and tried to book this hotel as Iv been to Amsterdam many times but somehow prefered this hotel (mainly as the...

Steep and narrow stairs. Not advisable if you have heavy luggage or a buggy for the baby. Decent enough breakfast. Excellent location. If you are the type to come to the room, only to sleep - it is a good hotel. If you can book a little early, might get a cheaper deal. We had to pay around 250 euros...

Dear Tripadvisor, I write to warn other users of your service of the dangers of booking with this hotel. I have not stayed there but a dear friend of mine had planned to visit me in Amsterdam this week and booked there for three nights from 3-6 August. She is on a very limited income and was bringing her two...

Went with 2 friends for a mature 'boys' weekend and all 3 of us shared 1 room to keep costs reasonable. The room itself was dowdy and dim with old rickety furniture with bits chipped off and there was a damp musty smell on the stairs. The bedding was grey and something was living in it as we were all...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
