I chose the Eelhouse for a weekend break for my daughter and me after a lot of research, and we were very happy with it. We had a lovely room on the third floor - bright and spacious, and overlooking a playground - that was...More
My wife and I have just spent 2 nights in the Eelhouse. It is in an excellent location, just outside the centre, but within walking distance of pretty much everything you would want to do and see in Amsterdam, a great local alternative to a...More
This B&B exceeded my expectations. We we're friendly received by Jasper and later by Vera. the rooms are great, big but at the same time so cozy. And the silence of the surroundings at the end of the day....priceless.
Very well located and with very...More
We wanted to feel close enough to the main areas of Amsterdam, whilst being far enough out to feel in with the locals.

One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers.
As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.

We stayed there last August. They do not have bicycles, but you can find the rental stores all over Amsterdam. I remember there was one about 3 blocks away.
The Dam Square is exactly a 15 minute walk from The Eelhouse.
