6 of us stayed here in Feb when visiting to celebrate a 40th birthday. What a gem! Traditional Amsterdam house with steep spiral stairs (pack lightly) & lovely rooms. Owners are so friendly & helpful & even put up some birthday bunting & balloons. There's 3 rooms so it was perfect as we had the place to ourselves. Breakfast is...

The Eelhouse, close to everything but quiet and peaceful after our long daily journeys. Located in Jordaan, it is an easy walk to almost any attraction. The owners where on vacation and I believe it was Vera's mother who took excellent care of us. The room we stayed in on the third floor was very well laid out for a...

A very cosy BnB, with a great bed overlooking Amsterdam roofs and a quiet park. We slept like babies, ate delicious breakfast, and managed to visit everything on foot thanks to the convenient location. Van Gogh museum is only 15 minutes away along the canals, and this residential/hipster district has many cafes, restaurants and nice terrasses.

Fantastic find. Vera and jasper are lovely so relaxed and welcoming. Room was basic but clean and well equipped. The breakfast is delicious and enormous delivered to your room at a requested time. Excellent location quiet but central lots of bars and restaurants within easy reach. And not to forget the free tea and coffee AND a free mini bar....

Spent 5 nights as this quaint, comfortable B&B in center of Amsterdam. It is within walking distance of the central train station, Anne Frank House, and many other attractions. Quiet, safe neighborhood with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Breakfasts consisted of eggs, croissants, bread, fruit, cold cuts. Coffee in room, as well as juice, water, beer and wine in...

Great location in Amsterdam, lovely clean room, great breakfast. Quaint, 400 year old house in the Jordaan (pronounced your-DAHN) a bit out of the fray. Good restaurants nearby, especially Winkel which has the best apple cake in town.

This B&B met our expectations in every way! The complimentary beverages in the fridge were so appreciated . The location was excellent. As other reviewers have stated in a safe quiet locale but in walking distance to the busy town centre. We felt very safe sitting outside at a local pub around the corner from the B&B until midnight and...

Just returned from 3 weeks in EU. Trip started with 3 nights in Amsterdam. We stayed at this great B&B. Room was large enough. Breakfast served in our room at 8:15 as requested. Typical European. Croissants, bread, cold cuts, cheese, yogurt, etc. Juice, wine and beer in mini bar. Coffee machine and kettle in the room. Ironing board as well....

For our weekend in Amsterdam we wanted a Dutch experience rather than staying at somewhere like Holiday Inn. Eel House was perfect. The location was excellent as it was away from the real noise but easy walking distance from the centre. The walk from Central Station to Eel House is really nice with lots of shops, canals and scenic views....

This B&B is a home run. It is far enough removed from the craziness of central Amsterdam but still located close enough to lots of attractions, and is a 15 minute walk from central station. The rooms are absolutely beautiful and the hosts were accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was great too. It's really a good value alternative to a hotel-...

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
