we have come to this hotel on our anniversary from Utrecht with public transport but it turns out to be quite poorly connected the bus stop is not available and leaves you in the middle of a highway which you have to walk through the same place where the cars circulate a few centimeters from you (very bad) they do not say anything on the web and at reception they had no idea either, the hotel and the facilities are very good but this detail has distorted our entire stay
Stayed for 2 nights for work. The hotel is easy to reach and find by car, as with all Van der Valk hotels, they are right next to highway exits. Huge parking lot and so far it is still free. (E-) bike rental is available. I have not seen a dedicated bike shed at front door. Reservation is made by a simple phone call. Friendly and professional staff. As well as check in and out. Due to Corona the restaurant is closed. Which means all meals are room serviced. Book the breakfast at reception and they show up at appointed time. Dinner, and rest of restaurant related orders, can be ordered at Anna Bel. There is a QR code in the room which proves the linke to Anna Bel and order from there. The room is spacious and modern. Toilet is separated from bath room. Bathroom has huge mirror, bath and walk in shower. Queens bed with usb wall sockets at night stand! It has been a pleasant stay and I would have rated a 4 star plus hotel, if not a 5! …
We had dinner and made a reservation specific for a large table so we could sit according to Covid-rules. They wanted us to sit at a small table. At first they said no other table available😳allthough this large table request was mentioned in the confirmed reservation. After insisting we were seated at the other side of the bar at a large table. 💪🏻 Drink were there fast. Food was good (Chateaubriand) but took to long between courses. Staff was too busy. 😔 Nobody asked for next drinks. Large parking. Modern building and interior.
I have tried to think of something good to say about the hotel. The room was ok, but on the second night my dirty tea cup was still there and the soap had not been replaced. The staff at check in were disinterested and offhand. At checkout it was somebody different and much better. Breakfast buffet was unimaginative and the scrambled egg was the worst I have ever seen. No warm croissants, tinned fruit, and a tiny coffee from the machine. The wifi kept dropping intermittently and did not work well in the room.
We had to spend one night in Tilburg for a concert. We booked Van der Valk because as looked brand new and prices were more than reasonable. No disappointment. Rooms were clean and spacious, check-in very easy. Only downside might be the location, not central. We had a car and it took us approx 10 mins to reach the old town. Also we did not try breakfast. If you don't mind being out of walking distance from bars and restaurants this is surely a good option. I would surely book again.
Situated next to a motorway the hotel has easy access, check in was friendly and simple. Note do check in before moving luggage as the hotel is spread over a large site and three buildings! Each has it's own car park. We had a superior whirlpool room with balcony. Very nice room. Great bed, bathroom, shower etc. Overly complicated lighting switches for various parts of the room. Great restaurant for dinner. Excellent service. We'd like to mention especially a waitress called Jessie. Breakfast good but buffet filling rather slow.
We came for 6 nights at the Junior suite with a baby. We travel abroad 4-5 times a year for long stays and this is our 4th trip to NL. We send an email to reception team twice and also through the booking.com system and no one bothered to reply. On the first day no one helped with the luggage and when we asked for help they directed us to use the cart to carry it ourself. Reception team don't smile or look at you. There is no concierge. There is no security system for going up to the room floors (the hotel has many guests from outside to restaurants and casino). Breakfast is OK but if something is finished at the buffet you need to wait a long time. Also it is the same every day. No one serves you coffee you need to stand in line. Asked for omelets made from fresh eggs and blamed for being liars for staying with a baby. Sorry but as paying costumers we prefer something fresh and reliable and not some egg batter from a dirty container. Housekeeping team is nice but could get better. We asked several times to put a larger sheet on the bed because it is too small but they don't do it. The worst thing happened to us now as we came back from a long day outside, showered and washed the baby and when we used the clean towels they had awful smell of cigarettes! What is that supposed to be? We never experienced anything like this. We had to shower again and wait for them to get more towels. No word or card mentioned regarding my birthday. Baby bed is in terrible condition. She sleeps with us. Location is convenient. Room is too dark. Bathroom is nice. Toilet is weird located far from the bathroom and there is no place to put soap near the sink. Also they put the extra toilet paper on the toilet brush instead of getting proper hanger. No where to put a towel. TV is slow. Wifi is slow. Not original nespresso coffee. We had to buy capsules in town. No room service menu. It's OK for a short visit for Efteling but don't expect 4* service. Stayed in much better hotels around Europe.…
I have been coming to the Van der Valk hotel since it first opened. It’s a great new hotel that has excellent amenities. My favorite part about visiting the hotel is the restaurant. There is a waiter named Marc who always goes out of his way to ensure me and my family are enjoying our drinks and food. It’s always nice to have a waiter who goes the extra step to make sure we are having a good time. Thank you Marc for being great: and I appreciate your excellent English skills! We will continue to visit the hotel for its beautiful appearance and to see Marc in the restaurant. You won’t be disappointed!
Van der Valk is a new and big hotel with beautiful modern interior and big rooms. The breakfast was lovely too. The big problem with this hotel is that there is no easy commute to the city centre. You can either walk 15 minutes to the closest bus stop, walk to the city center which takes 30 minutes (Google map) or spend € 15 on a taxi.
We stayed last year just when the hotel opened and decided to come back. The family room we stayed in is very spacious and comfortable for a family of 4. It has a separate room for the children beautifully decorated. Over the years we stayed in a lot of hotels around the area and I think this one is the best option if you don’t mind being a little bit apart from town, shops, etc. A thing to improve is the maid service. It’s normal to leave the room early in the morning and be back around 15hs and still no service.
