The Match is in an excellent location, easy walking to many eateries, shops, and points of interest, and in a very nice neighborhood. The room was large, if rather spartan, and the shower was wonderful - some of the best water pressure we have experienced anywhere. The staff - specifically the woman who checked us in - was not at all wonderful or excellent, in fact she was abrupt, unhelpful, a bit arrogant and clearly could not be bothered. The Match tries to be cutting edge, but it tries too hard and it seems forced and artificial. Had our experience with the desk person been better, this review would be also, but her rudeness set the tone from the beginning and I doubt we would return or recommend this hotel, unfortunately.
Stayed for one night this week after golfing at The Stippelberg. Check in was easy around midnight. The rooms are spacious with all the tv channels you need. Shower is good. Had Breakfast with coffee on the nice wooden table in the lobby. I love the pinball machine in the lobby. Well done...
Very clean room with all the comforts. The bed was wonderful and the walk-in shower very practical. A large flat screen and separate toilet were also a plus. I could load my electric car in the underground car park and the lift took me straight to the hotel, which was very convenient in the middle of the city. However, at the entrance of the hotel it seemed that you were in the countryside rather than in the middle of the city because of the spacious outdoor area with trees and benches. From there, you could immediately reach the shops and restaurants. Very successful stay!
Racist receptionist. Managers refused to apologize when we complained. When we called the police, the team was speaking Dutch with the policeman in Dutch only, and pretended not to speak English. This hotel is a joke. Maybe just for adventurists who want to sample the worst hotel experience.
The location of Hotel the Match is great, right in the middle of the city and close to restaurants. However it isn't easy to find because it is located behind the main streets. It was initially difficult to find but there were some signs along the main roads but the best recommendation is to have a functioning phone and map app. Great service, checked in at 12:30 and even though they advertise that the check in is with the iPads there was someone at the desk to assist with my check in. Basic rooms but clean and quiet.
We got a room on the ground floor with a connecting door to the room next door with poor soundproofing. We were woken up several times between 23:00 and 23:45 by drunk people in the corridor that was giving access to the rooms as anyone could access it (in any other hotel you need to use the room card to access this private area). At 00:30am we were woken up again by the couple next door. I went to the reception area to complain and I’ve noticed that the hotel bar area was PACKED with people. No concerns with the Corona virus and also there was no check for a valid certificate at check-in. The staff member accompany me to the room, ask the couple to be quieter but things didn’t really get better. It was actually the first time we decided to leave a hotel in the middle of the night, more precisely at 01:30am because we were just apprehensive at what would happen later when people would start to return from a night out most likely drunk. To add insult to injury, when leaving we bought 1 small bottle of water and 1 cola and paid 6.5€!! A message was sent to the hotel to complain on Sunday and almost a week later, no answer has been received.…
Me and my boyfriend booked a trip in January, to arrive at the end of March. A few days before we were due to fly out to Netherlands, the COVID19 Pandemic hit and the whole world went into lockdown. The hotel refused a refund and would only move our dates to September. We accepted but were very angry as they had no care that there was a pandemic happening. This is money we have paid to the hotel and we have received nothing in return. Our flights for September have now been cancelled, and there are no other flights leaving NI on those dates. The service we have received is disgusting and disrespectful. I am totally appalled by how poor the hotels service has been and they have not tried to offer even a partial refund or compromise with us at all.
Horrible hotel, staff are very cheeky and unhelpful. When you arrive you check yourself in, very hard to get talking to any member of staff as there is a lack of them. Hotel refused to refund for the booking despite corona virus. They would only change the dates. EasyJet cancelled our flights and don’t have any other available flights. It is also forbidden by the UK government to travel to The Netherlands. Apparently it’s hotel policy to not refund. The booking was made before Corona Virus was a thing, they didn’t have Corona Virus in their ‘hotel policy’. We had booked other hotels who refunded the transaction immediately. Couldn’t recommend this hotel to my worst enemy! Many many other hotels and holiday companies are refunding bookings as they should be. Hotel The Match aren’t special and should do the same.…
This is a hip and contemporary hotel found in Eindhoven city centre with modern facilities and really cool features like a pool table, pinball machine and communal sitting areas. Our extra-large twin room was really, really spacious with a large entrance hall and walk-in shower cubicle. The beds were comfy, the room was clean and had a big wall-mounted television. Check-in is easy (self-service): we didn’t once speak with any staff, making it our own stay effectively! Now that’s cool. The graffiti effect decor styled corridors, carpets and overall trendy environment add to the experience. I would definitely return here and highly recommend this location for anyone wishing to be near to restaurants and bars in Eindhoven.
Very trendy atypical hotel. Good location, friendly service and pretty interior. Rooms lack some storage space if you want to stay a few days. Perfect for a 1 or 2days city trip. Lots of young people but no noise complaints.
