It was a last minute booking, no budget hotels were available, so we decided to try this original concept. I must say that for the price you pay it is not worth it. As soon as you go downstairs the smell of the wall to wall carpets comes. The rooms are really small, and the worse part was that it...

It was only 33 $$ a night! Cash Only!!! CC to hold room. Sleeping on a boat, you have to make a few concessions! Amenities are limited, but adequate. Rooms are small. Walls are thin. Floor is squeaky. But again... you're on a boat, space is very limited! Wouldn't spend a week. Could easily spend a few nights though. Original,...

We stayed here for one night just for the sheer novelty value, and it didn't disappoint. Extremely basic room obviously - when you're on quite a small boat you can't expect too much space. But the room was cheap, ensuite, very clean, and the experience was a lot of fun. We enjoyed chilling out with a few beers watching the...

The novelty of sleeping on a boat is good. Interior a little shabby, rooms small with small beds, we had a very basic shower/wet room in ours too. Upsides: great views of the river from the rooms and the deck, friendly multilingual staff. Definitely more of a hostel than a hotel. It's cheap though!

Yeaaaah it's pretty gross. Everything feels dirty and grimy and there are spiders everywhere. Seriously, I didn't think that many spiders existed in one place. Our room was tiny and made me incredibly frustrated when I tried to do something simple, like move from one place to another. Also the beds are tiny and not only can you feel when...

Stayed here for one night. The staff are friendly and the bar area is nice enough, for a boat. But because it's a boat the rooms are quite cramped, dated and noisy and the bathroom is even smaller still. The steps leading from the reception area to the rooms are also very steep, not really sure how I managed them...

I was not prepared for the rusting outside deck, gritty linoleum bedroom floor, and general inconvenience. The shower didn't work. I had to ask for a blow dryer. You can only drink what they serve in the main cabin so my water bottle was not allowed. Internet is only available in the main cabin. There is a shelf placed above...

First of all, this place is an extremely convenient location to see old Maastricht. Plus the value is outstanding. Most places in the city center are very expensive and that limits what else you can do on your trip. Consider this more of a no-frills alternative slightly above a good hostel. I ranked it a 5 because it is a...

I enjoyed my stay at the botel in Maastricht. Location and prizes were really good. Staff were very nice and social and it was no problem to them that I wanted to have breakfast a little bit earlier than they normally serve. Despite those things there were a few things that I didn't enjoy as much. The foremost thing was...

I really enjoyed my stay at Botel Maastricht, even though there were some features I wouldn't have accepted when staying at a usual hotel. But this is a houseboat, and so it's a bit different! Staff were utterly friendly and nice, and my room was small, but ok for one person. Although everything was quite old and run down, it...
