We were very happy with our 5 day family vacation here. In hot weather we made a lot of use of the outdoor pool and the views over the lake from our rooms were simply stunning. There is no air conditioning (which few non 5star hotels or flats have in Switzerland) but it always cools down at night and you can wonderfully sleep with open windows.

The hotel is a little bit tired and the restaurant not quite as good as we had hoped, despite 14 Gault Millau points. But we found two very nice local restaurants in walking distance. And the price for the rooms is very fair for what in terms of view, museum-like interior and outdoor garden/pool is a 5star experience.

We will hope to come back next summer.

This is exactly the sort of hotel we look to support during the pandemic. A wonderful in the first rate restaurant took us back to a former preCovid era, and then you don’t need to worry about the drive home.

This family owned and run establishment seems to have found the perfect niche to survive. The hotel was busy with local couples treating themselves to a restaurant meal.

The rooms are perhaps abut pricey, but overall we don’t regret our investment.

The staff are friendly and grateful for the custom, as it the patron who walks the public rooms interacting with his clients.

A very pleasant walk down the gorge to Montreuil and a ride back up in the funicular helped build our appetite for dinner.

I really like this hotel. It’s actually in a great location because you get the most amazing view of the lake, you can get down quickly to the lake on the cable car or into Montreux or up the mountain on the train.

This is a stunning family run hotel. The rooms are not modern but they are comfortable with good bathrooms. Those facing the lake have amazing views.

The food is also a feature. I actually looked forward to dinner and it’s nice knowing you can have a great meal in the hotel even with the many restaurants in the area. Beautiful gardens as well.

Aside from the food and the view, it’s also nice to be slightly away from the crowds by the lake but still close by.

Will definitely try and go back, second visit already!

Spent four wonderful days in this magnificent hotel situated above Montreux. The drive up the mountain was scary since there was road construction but it was worth it. What a view? Over the beautiful lake with the Alps in the background. Our junior suite was huge, beautifully decorated in rich colors and lovely paintings on the wall but it was the view with terrace that was so gorgeous. The bathroom had a free-standing shower and that was the only difficulty for me. It was a huge step from the shower to the floor of the bathroom and even my husband had difficulty with the wet floor in the shower to the dry floor without some kind of handle or bar to help without falling. Otherwise, the linens, towels, and shower supplies were top quality. We took many of our. meals at the hotel, especially at night with that scary road keeping us at the hotel. We enjoyed our pre-dinner drinks and appetizers in the beautiful bar area and then loved our dinners which tasted delicious. Breakfast also was delicious with many breads, sweets, fresh juice, hot coffee, eggs made to order, etc. The staff was always present to answer questions, bring our food and drink in a professional manner with wonderful attitudes. This is the way is always was in Old World hotels....attentive service with a smile, ready to please, etc. Wish we were there when it was warmer. Would have loved to eat outside, use the beautiful pool area. This is a Relais and Chateaux hotel that is one of it's very best and would highly recommend it.

My wife and I spent 4 nights at the Hotel Victoria in Glion, a stones throw from Montreux city center. Perched high on a hill the views of Lake Geneva and the surrounding mountains are amazing as are elements of the hotel. In a word the interior of the hotel, although a bit dated, is excellent. Beautiful period pieces of furniture are everywhere in the common spaces. The dining terrace where breakfast and dinner are severe (weather permitting) is spectacular. The daily breakfast is sumptuous with an abundance of choices from traditional bacon/sausage and eggs, to pastries, yogurt, cold cuts and cheeses...you name it. The dinner menu is excellent and the food served there and the level of service is outstanding. With regards to areas to improve upon while our room was nicely appointed the room is definitely dated...it could use a little face lift. Some of the furniture in the room while very attractive, was not very comfortable and the rooms (certainly ours) are not air conditioned which definitely required a fan, particularly for rooms with windows and balconies facing west as the afternoon sun descends. To access Montreux the easiest way is to take the funicular down the hillside where you will get off right next to the train station. From there, uou can hop on the train for the 2-minute ride to Montreux or walk. By the way, a great perk (that the hotel provides) is a pass for taking the train through the Montreux and Vevey region for free; .but to places like Lausanne or Geneva it does require purchasing a ticket. Overall, we had a marvelous time at the Hotel Victoria. The staff are very courteous and professional...every staff member goes out of their way to provide assistance to hotel guests. A great spot in Montreux.

A A visit to the Hotel Victoria in Glion is always rewarding. Wonderful hosts and service staff. This time the kitchen, patissier and sommelier were not quite up to our expectations:
We had better memories of the quality of the cuisine. Too much vinegar and even mustard were used in the mayonnaise with the asparagus. The red wine was much too warm and it was a pity that there were no organic wines. These days, such wines belong on the wine list and must be labelled. The dessert trolley also looked very battered after the first few tables. A pity, because this one is unique.
We will return to the Hotel Victoria in July and hope that the cuisine, patissier and sommelier will improve again by then, as we are used to. to A visit to the Hotel Victoria in Glion is always rewarding. This grand hotel has been beautifully maintained. It has gorgeous grounds and views of Lake Geneva, an expansive breakfast (included with the room) and is well staffed. Glion is a quiet alternative to downtown Montreux, with many transportation options a short walk from the hotel, making it a very convenient base. The Victoria is family run, and the family has a strong presence overseeing operations inside the hotel, unusual for a hotel of this size.

At first we were given room 6 on the first floor, a stuffy room overlooking the parking lot. We asked to be moved and were given room 70 on the 5th floor, a large room with a clawfoot tub in the beautiful bathroom. The shower was small, a tight fit even for a small person, but otherwise the room was spacious and lovely.

We had viewed the Victoria, perched above Montreux, many times but had never had cause to visit either for a meal or to stay. However with the fabulous local chef, Stephane Decotterd moving nearby we had decided to combine a meal at his establishment with a stay at the Victoria. And how pleased were we that we did. A lovely approach and ample parking eased us into the reception where a lovely welcoming fire awaited us….plus the very pleasant reception staff. In all the right ways, it was like stepping back in time. Immaculately presented, the hotel is a piece of yesterday….with many artworks and sculptures provoking an image of Art Nouveau escapism. The room was a delight too…..exquisitely decorated, fruit and chocolates awaiting and a gorgeous sunset view of the lake. All the staff we encountered in all areas were very polite, helpful and friendly. On the second night we ate in the restaurant and had a delightfully tasty meal…..the only hard part was deciding what to choose from the very tempting menu. It was wonderful classic french cuisine and for me the highlight was, instead of a cheese trolley, a dessert trolley full of sweet temptation to finish the meal off. We would love to come back, perhaps to try a weekend summer lunch from the terrace…..a nice thought. Anyhow to cap our weekend, my wife was given a box of chocolates on our departure….a very unexpected but pleasant touch. Wonderful and very impressed.

We have made this one of our go to hotels as it is so exceptional in every way . Be assured though that this does not come cheap ! We always have a deluxe room with a magnificent view over the lake and distant mountains. It is full of period furniture as is the whole hotel . Every room is full of gorgeous antique pieces . The staff are attentive and friendly. The food is amazing . We have opted over the last few years to have the full board option and although it’s far too much food it’s a great option considering the prices of nearby restaurants. Three course lunch and dinner all beautiful presented . There is also an al a
Carte menu but this is rather pricey .
It’s by far the most decadent thing that we do but is worth every penny to be sitting on the balcony with the stunning view

The place is steeped in history, in a good way. Lots of antique furniture and decorations.
Facilities are very well maintained, inside and outside. We had a very spacious room on the top floor, with lateral lake views, excellent.
Very attentive staff, classic French food in the restaurant.
Strong and stable wifi connection, several video calls without any problems
