We were recommended the Sonne by one of our relatives who lives in Italy after struggling to find a reasonable priced hotel to stay with a family of 5. Happy to say the Sonne provided excellent value for our large group where by we could stay all in one room. The room itself we pleasingly bright and light with large... More

Stayed in Casa Franco for three nights with my family to explore St Moritz a bit and to catch the train to Zermatt. Big mistake. Casa Franco is quite a walk from the main hotel especially if you are dragging some luggages. Main door is not lock, very dark in the hallways and staircases. Lights do not come on automatically.... Good hotel, room in main part with a small balcony. Long walk from the station and not much choice for eating in the immediate vicinity, Annoying 1 inch step at the top of the stairs that tripped up my wife a couple of times. Good restauranat (dinner and breakfast). Very helpful staff, receptionist went out of her way to look... More

Very simple rooms, but clean and with everything you need. Considering the prices in St. Moritz a great value. The hotel has a restaurant which serves delicious pizza. It is located in St. Moritz Bad, near the lake and Kempinski Grand Hotel and Casino.

Just spent my first Winter holiday in St Moritz and can't praise the Sonne Hotel enough. Truly professional, friendly staff who even in their busiest moments, remember your name. Fabulous pizzas in the restaurant and a good range of food to suit all requirements. Rooms are immaculate, cosy and a treat to return to after a session on the Cresta... More

I didn't expect much from this hotel and I didn't get much. I needed a place to spend the night between trains (connecting from the Glacier Express from Zermatt to the Trans-Alpine to Vienna). It was not easy to get a reservation for one night in St Moritz during high season and I wanted to spend as little money as... More

I stayed at Sonne from 15-19 Sept 2008 as a single lady traveller and really enjoyed my stay in room 111. I paid CHF105 per night and was in the block next to the main building where the Reception and restaurant are located. I wouldnt say my checkin was super friendly and I didnt receive any helpful tourist information from... More

I have stayed in 150+ hotels in Europe and this is the worst I have encountered since staying in the old Soviet Union. Although the front desk personnel were helpful, the room we stayed in (in the annex, about 300 meters away) was in a dingy building that was dark and worn; we hiked up several floors to our room;... The hotel is located in St. Moritz Bad, i.e. a relative newly developed zone from the down town, St. Moritz Dorf. It is close to the lake and it takes a 20 minutes walk to the down centre. It is a nice walk. There is also a bus station in front of the hotel and therefore travelling with luggage should... More

I stayed at the Casa Franco (Hotel Sonne annex) for four nights in February 2008. The Hotel Sonne is a three building complex- The Sonne proper, Casa del Sole and Casa Franco. Hotel Sonne and Casa del Sole are adjacent to one another while Casa Franco is around the corner (1 min walk). Casa Franco's rooms are very small, if... More
