We stayed at the Alpin Sherpa for two weeks in July and really enjoyed our stay. It looks like our experience was very similar to others who have stayed. Would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable, family-friendly place with super nice staff. The room met our needs, was large, and comfortable altho not at all fancy.... I spent 2 weeks at the hotel. My room was on a corner and larger than most. The bed and bedding were clean and comfortable. Large closets, hot water in the bathroom was instantly hot . and cold water was glacier cold. Water was great to drink! NO complaints about the room - and it was kept clean on a... More

My wife and I stayed at the Alpin Sherpa for two weeks in the summer of 2012. Overall, the hotel met our needs, though not without requiring some adjustment on our part. Our room (number 202) was larger than most European hotel rooms, had adequate storage, and was kept clean. Our bed (two narrow mattresses side-by-side) was very comfortable. Bedside... More

The staff ( manfred, Anna, the girls) are wonderful and very concerned about doing a good job. Hotel is spotless although not fancy. Rooms are nice and bathrooms clean. Was there for two weeks and certainly tired of the food. Strange meal combinations but plenty of food. Great experience and would highly recommend this hotel

In June 2012 my wife and I spent 14 days at the Alpin Sherpa Hotel as part of a tour. The rooms were modern, large and clean. They had a comfortable European king-size bed (two singles pushed together), good bathroom with full shower curtain and even washcloths, two chairs, and great closet and luggage space. Two windows opened, which was... More

On a recent group trip to Switzerland, the Alpin Sherpa Hotel suited our needs well. It’s a clean and Spartan hotel, although probably built in the ‘60s and needing some updating. Observations are as follows: 1. Our room was quite spacious relative to most European hotel rooms. The bed had the two-mattress configuration but was quite comfortable. The bed had... More

The Hotel is clean and the breakfast is good but the dinner is good for children due to the small portions they gave us. The reception is very rude and ignorant and they don't know what means customer care but I need to say that the Indian waiters were excellent and are very friendly instead of the German lady that... Comfortable hotel, pleasant room with balcony and nice bathroom. Good breakfast. Central position, close to busses and railway station. Staff generally very friendly and helpful. Would stay in this hotel again if in the area.

The Alpin Sherpa is located in the non-touristy Alpine town of Meiringen, Switzerland. Meiringen is well-situated for visiting by rail, bus or car such picturesque areas as the Interlaken region, Lucerne, Zermatt and Grindelwald. The ever-efficient Swiss railroad system works like a charm out of Meiringen. The hotel staff, led by manager Alexander Dalucas, is most capable, personable and accommodating.... More

“We were in room 223 which is on the back side of the hotel; quiet, no street noise or lights, there is a church bell that chimes every 15 mins and on the hour but was a very pleasant sound; I'm a light sleeper and it didn't disturb me.”
