The hotel is in an absolutely brilliant location with the Reichenbach Falls, Aare Gorge, the Alpentower and the highly efficient Swiss rail network on your doorstep. Exploring the entire region is a 'doddle'. Just as Important are the staff who are warm, friendly and extremely helpful - nothing is too much trouble. Currently the hotel is undergoing some refurbishment, although... More

With GRJ group who were great fun which certainly helped to make up for the dreadful disappointment of this hotel. The review by Joan R was spot on. The food was at best inedible. Breakfast was good but we all dreaded the evening meals. It was the first time I have ever had to chew fish as if it was... More

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights while touring Switzerland. Our purpose in Meiringen was to go sledding at Hasliberg Resort. This is a great place to stay if you are interested in outdoor activities. It was mere steps to the lowest level lift for Hasliberg. The hotel was quaint, clean and very well appointed. Main areas were welcoming... More

Very much enjoyed my stay. Winter in Meiringen is quiet, but hotel staff all friendly and very helpful. Good breakfast, nice room. Sense of history about the place, excellent. A place the English should put on their list.

We loved it at the parkhotel - this was my first trip with children and without my husband. The hotel staff was helpful and welcoming - and we felt like we got a really nice room for a very reasonable price. Rooms were well insolated and kids slept wonderfully. We loved the breakfast - I would have enjoyed more organic/bio... More

Travelled with GRJ to this hotel like many others before. Please take note when people on this site are complaining about service and the standard of food at dinner they are not just whinging it's absolutely spot on, we are not fussy eaters by a long way this hotel is no way a 4 star restaurant so if you book... Christmas at The Parkhotel du Sauvage was a pleasure. Yes, the food was not what we are used to - but I didn't go for roast beef and yorkshire pud and enjoyed the Swiss cuisine Maybe the choice of cheese or cheese was not the best. The plates were only cold on one occasion and once 'hat' had intervened the... More

Parkhotel du Sauvage. It starts with the cases being picked up at the station, the welcome from our mate Sherlock at reception, the bar staff, the restaurant staff, the cleaners of our room, all, we found exceptionally eager to please us Brit's on tour. The bedroom was spotless, full of character and quiet with incredible views of the mountains and... More

This hotel has seen better days, and seems to be run on a limited budget. Considering it was Christmas, it was not very atmospheric , very few decorations and no festive music until Christmas Day! Regarding the meals, breakfast consisted of tinned peaches and same mixed fruit, accompanied with poor selection of cheese and hams. There was also same selection... More

This hotel has seen much better days. We went with GRJ. Very good situation in the town, close to the station, but let down by mediocre food and rather poor service. The lights were dimmed right down in the Bar then switched off around 10.30 pm as the staff appeared keen to go home!
