The hostel is good enough. Bear in mind that it is a hostel and you have to bring your own towel, shampoo and shower gel. The location is a bit outside of the city center but the train station can be reached on foot in 10-15 minutes. There are also buses going to the pistes. We stayed with a big...

Fantastic location: seriously, where can you get a view on the Eiger North Face from any room? Bus stop 50 away. WiFi in communal rooms as is the custom on the Youth Hostels in Switzerland and Germany. Simple but tasty food, excellent breakfest buffet, good advice on touristy and private questions. Really recommended.

We stayed here the weekend when the Alps were getting a long awaited snowfall, so the soroundings were just perfect a winter fairytale. The rooms are basic, but we just slept there so no need for extra comfort. The showers and bathroom is shared, but verry clean, you can see they take a real good care where it matters. The...

I would not recommend the place at all, not because of structure, but because the staff is really rude. Where in the world you would ask a staff: "can you help me?" and the answer is just a rude "no". If you are on a break or whatever, you explain. Terrible customer relations. If staff does not want to treat...

Was a bit skeptical over the expensive nature of the hostel, but the prices are fair for Grindelwald. I shared a six man room with five friends and the view from our chalet balcony was surreal. It literally looked like someone took a stock photo and placed it in front of us. Certainly is quite a hike partially up a...

I had a private room in the new section of the hostel - it was basic but comfortable. I could see the Eiger from my window. The hostel is a fair uphill walk from the station, but the 21 and 22 buses (red line) from near the station go past the door every half hour. The buffet breakfast was a...

Everything about this hostel is nice, About 20mins walk from train station or a short bus ride. Reception takes time to brief all the information with a smile. I stayed in a 4 bed dormitory and was spacious, clean room, comfortable bed and a cupboard with locker. Eiger north face view from room was amazing. There are enough showers and...

The youth hostel is a Swiss Chalet located in the heart of the Alps. Views from the lodge are spectacular both during the day and in the night. I would love to go back to Grindelwald and would definitely consider staying here again. It's a short walk to the center of town and to the trails/gondolas to the mountains.

This hostel situates in the mountain and it takes around 20 minutes to walk from the train station. You need to walk uphill to get there, so if you get a heavy backpack or suitcase, it would be better for you to take the bus, which is easily found near the station. The bus is free if you get the...

For somebody without a car, it is a good haul dragging luggage up the hill to get there - we helped several fellow travelers. By car, it involves a slightly scary one-lane road with blind corners, but parking is plentiful. Great views and all very clean. Friendly staff, and a good breakfast spread. They offer dinner, which is of good...
