We had a week at this Hotel on a half board basis. We couldn't fault it! The staff were so friendly and helpful, the food was tasty and wholesome and our room was large, spacious and comfortable. The whole place was full of character and even our room was adorned with wooden carved goats and cattle marching across the headboard-...

The hotel is situated (as the name already tells 😉) directly in the village center of Grindelwald. All shops, busses, gondolas etc. are easily to reach and as a guest in the hotel you can use a lot of them for free or with a reduced rate. I had a room in the apartment-chalet behind the hotel. It was simple...

I was in Grindelwald for the weekend and needed a place to stay that wasn't too expensive. The room was fine, nothing fancy. They had run out of parking, but suggested we just double park and leave the key at the front desk, so they can move it if need be. The breakfast buffet was good, had everything we needed....

Having enjoyed an afternoon visit to Jungfraujoch, we decided to break the journey back to Interlaken with an evening meal between trains, at Grindelwald. We had a table overlooking the street, with a view of the north face of the Eiger. We had bratwurst and Lampi & Rosti with a gemischter salad, with a very nice Fendant Swiss wine. The...

Stayed in a room at the front of the hotel and had stunning views from our balcony. Probably the only time I was eager to get out of bed in the morning so I could have half an hour with a cuppa on the balcony taking it all in! Switzerland is expensive and you should take that into account when...

I'd booked two rooms, one with two single beds for my teenage grandsons and a single only for me. The hotel put us next door to each other in a "suite". In reality it is a family room connected internally by the communal bathroom. There are two doors to the bathroom and privacy is only guaranteed if you lock both....

Terrible check-in experience. Waited 20 minutes. We called the number "33" as suggested at the desk. She would continue to say "on my way". No apologies, no welcome, no smile, just gave us our room. Which had plenty of stains on the carpet. Very nice view. Restaurant was probably very good because it was quite busy.

the location is really convenient - close to the railway station and the center of the town; the staff is friendly; the breakfast gives you a good start for a day of hiking; only drawback: the room&bathroom smelled slightly like an used clothes locker in the gym (opening the window helped)

This is simply a superb hotel that my family and I have been coming to for many years. The owners and every member of staff are very helpful, polite and welcoming. The rooms are comfortable and of a good size; the rooms at the front with a balcony offer a spectacularly stunning view of the mountains (Eiger, Jungfrau and Monch)....

The hotel is right in the centre of the town, opposite the bus terminal and one minute from the train station. Our room was at the back with views of the mountains. We had a balcony with comfortable chairs and a table. Breakfast was a typical continental buffet with a good choice of rolls etc.
