What I liked: - The location is very good for people coming by train - The view to the lake from the room and the breakfast salon was beautiful - Comfortable bed What I did not like: - The walls are ver thin, I could hear almost everything in the next room
We stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel is just opposite to the railway station, so very convenient to reach and also to travel to other spots for hiking. We didn't try their breakfast but there are a few options in the railway station to have a quick meal & a coffee and be on your way. The view of the lake from the hotel was great too and the lake is just about 10-12 min walk from here. A good place to spend some time in the evening. Will definetly come back here if we visit Neuchatel again :)
Fantastic view on the lac and Alpes (no wonder with the hotel name) in a room recently renovated (room 101). Very comfy bed, easy to access by train and possibility to park the car for free in front of the hotel with a special card given at the reception. The breakfast was nice with a fantastic view from the terrace even if we saw a couple of wasps. For this price, this is really an excellent deal.
This is a very convenient hotel if you are visiting Neuchatel. It is right across from the station and close to convenience store, bakeries and a McDonalds. The town is very hilly so its nice to be on top of the hill. We received a booklet for free short travel so we could use the funicular to get up and down the hill without buying tickets. We stayed in the new side overlooking the lake as recommended by others and the rooms are beautiful. The windows are south facing so the sun comes in nicely and the lake is simply beautiful. On a clear day, you can see a wonderful backdrop of mountains. The staff are multilingual so no problems communicating. They allowed us to leave our bags there on the last day as we were taking a late train which was nice. Negatives? I didn't like the concrete flooring. I would have preferred carpet or tiles. It was heated but dirt that was tracked in on shoes generally ended up in the bed as well. Also, the shower has a glass wall that covers only half the shower so unless they forgot to put a shower curtain in there, it is a weird setup and the bathroom was soaked after every shower.…
👍We stayed here for 3 nights in the hotels newer section in the annex on 3rd floor. All new and very clean, nice side balcony overlooking lake. We wondered why we didn’t get one of the middle rooms as they may have had a more full on view of the lake, but I think the side rooms are larger so all was good ✅ Very conveniently positioned across the road from train station and grocery market and Maccas. Adequate breakfast. While on the top side of town we had a free hotel pass for the funicular ,never had to wait very long. 👎only downside being close to train station was that it could be a bit noisy of a night time but we found with front windows closed and back balcony door open we slept well. Would stay again.
Stayed here for one night. The hotel is located across the street from the train station which was perfect. My room was in the new annex building, meaning the room was very clean, modern and has air conditioning unlike the older part of the hotel. The room had a nice view of Lake Neuchatel and was within easy walking distance of restaurants. My only complaint is that the breakfast choices could have been better for CHF 15.
The hotel is located across the train station of Neuchatel and although it was built many years ago it has been renovated and looks very nice. The view is breath taking the stuff is polite, and the breakfast is sufficient. The rooms are large and quite. The price per night is relatively good.
We have visited this hotel seven times over the past 20 years, most recently in October 2018.Each visit offers comfort and pleasant surroundings. The rooms are immaculate, the beds comfortable, the staff uniformly efficient and friendly. The views of Lake Neuchatel from the lake side of the hotel are inspiring. The Morning breakfast buffet is always diverse, plentiful and showcases the bounty of the region. Excellent choice of breads, cheeses and cold cuts as well as various fruit conserves unique to the region. The hotel restaurant offers very good food showcasing regional specialties. The attention to detail inselection of orginal art work, floral arrangements and public area decorations create an environment that is unique and interesting, a welcome change from bland modern hotel decorator style.…
We were only able to enjoy the wonderful view over Neuchatel and the lake from our room for a one night's stay. On arrival, the lady at the reception was very helpful and explained where we could park our car free of charge outside the hotel. Our room with balcony was comfortable and clean even if a bit smaller than we had expected having looked at the photos on the hotel website, although spacious enough for two people. We had a very tasty lunch at the hotel restaurant. The following morning the breakfast at the hotel was varied. The hotel is very conveniently located near the funiculaire which takes you up and down the hill and to the city centre and the lake. The hotel provided us with a pass to use the funiculaire free of charge.
Well situated across the road from the train station. Arrived and had a very helpful receptionist check us but the room wasn’t ready. She suggested using the funicular into town to explore and take a boat ride on the lake. Hotel was very basic and the lake view room was a spectacular view. There was no air-conditioning and with mosquitos around, it was very hot in the room. Even the fan didn’t really help to alleviate the heat during the night. Breakfast was good but unfortunately there were flies all over the bread and croissants, a shame, they need to be covered. We sat on the terrace and had Aperol Spritzers, great views.
