I was lucky enough to be paying apx £65 per night but on some occasions I have seen it as much as 200 per night for a single room. It was clean, if a bit dusty, the bed was comfortable and the room had air conditioning and a mini fridge. On the downside the Internet connection was slow, I was...

This has always been the hotel of choice for Art Basel every June. This year I only spent 2 nights here as we had an apartment for the other nights. The room I had this year (114) was larger than before we not so much wasted space like my previous rooms had. Always very clean and everything works perfectly. The...

One of those hôtels you might not find easy unless you want to go to one of the trade shows very nearby. However, it is worthwile and correctly priced outside the faire dates. It s a short and convenient tram ride from the Basel Train Station (Swiss) or almost walking distance from the German Train Station (Badischer Bahnhof). Choose the...

Others have compared this hotel to a hostel and after staying for a couple of nights it's clear why, it certainly has a hostel feel to it. That said it was clean and the room was spacious (I had a business room) and was very quiet. Having said that the hotel is pretty basic, with few niceties.

Hotel du Commerce is like an upscale hostel. It had all the bells and whistles of any other hotel but at a minimalist level: wifi; self-serving bar with pre-purchased card from desk; staffing until midnight; sparse rooms; sparse breakfast. I have no complaints about it as it fully served my needs and was comfortable and they were very helpful. I...

The hotel is a mid-range inner-city one, suitable for a short business stay or attendance at a conference if you are solo. The room was of moderate size, with a nice bathroom with bath (my colleagues only has showers). The room was clean and the TV had 50 german channels and CNN. The breakfast was the minimum continental type, with...

After a tiresome day at work and a lengthy train trip, it was very nice to check-in here at 11pm and find a beautiful room, some wonderful staff and spend a peaceful and relaxing night. Breakfast was also good. And you get free public transportation in Basel. In the end, the only flaw was the wi-fi, which wasn't working properly...

This is one of the typical hotels in Basel, whose only claim to fame is that they are situated close to the Fair Grounds and thus able to rip off visitors during the large fairs taking place there (such as Art Basel or the Watches & Jewelry Exhibition). Truth be told, friends and I spent a night there recently during...

This Hotel is centrally located, on the Streetcar line. The Hotel gives you a free pass to use the streecar, which we used and it was very convienient. However, the Hotel has just added A/C to the rooms, ours was not hooked up yet and the room was very hot. We had to leave the windows open all night, and...

Found myself booked into this place, and realised I needed a upgrade to a larger room, and was offered a non-smoking one that stank of smoke. Finally given a double room in the renovated section (differentiated by smart wooden doors) on the first floor. Room was ultra modern but still small and not somewhere you'd like to while away an...
