been staying at the Krafft for 4 nights during a show, and appreciate very much the nice cosy atmosphere like at home with plenty of nice details like the water bar on the floor, books to read available, the very nice view on old Basel. The interior decoration is creating a peaceful atmosphere and coming back there after a day...

Great Old Hotel in the old part of town. A bit confusing at first to drive to but worth the effort. Small but nice rooms. Breakfast was decent. Location was perfect. Nice old town vibe just by walking outside. Staff was great

I would recommend anyone visiting Basel to go to Kraft. They have some seats towards the Rhein, which are great if weather allows. I prefer the inside turn-of-the-century rooms with chandeliers etc. it is the kind of place, where the menu is limited but excellent. I would recommend the 'surprise menu' which is quite inexpensive (65 if I remember), but...

So this hotel requires a specific interest or taste in historical buildings and set-up. I had a single room that was clean and neat but it reminded me of a dorm room. Also the wooden floor is cracking every time someone walks on it, resembled the movie Shining a bit. And my personal disappointment, there is no warm breakfast. Again,...

Dear "Krisztina_DBR" Thank you for sharing your opinion about our hotel and thank you for differentiating. We appreciate it. Our small single rooms are indeed small but we therefore have the most attractive rate for that category. From our experience we know that our business guest like it, for short stays especially. For long stays we always try to recommend...

top location at Rhein, beautifull terrace at river side, excellent combination of a traditional building converted into a modern design hotel. Friendly staff, good service. Clean well equipped rooms. We will come back again.

The hotel's location is perfect, the view from my river-side room was wonderful. Watching the floaters go by, trying to get out of the summer heat was pretty neat. In fact the August heat wave was the only negative - not the hotel's fault, but oh my! 90+ degrees and no air conditioning. Breakfast was well appointed, the free bike...

Rheingasse had changed a lot. In former times it was a very special place with strange people around. Nowadays it is getting a peaceful and nice street, -and there is Krafft. A hotel with literary charge: Hesse lived and wrote here the Steppenwolf. A bar, with fine small food and a large selection of good and very good wines, former...

I stayed here in July in a room on fourth floor - only a small single but very well equipped and with a little balcony overlooking the Rhine and Münster. An extremely well run hotel with excellent reception and restaurant/bar staff. I was most impressed by the facilities on each floor by the wonderful 19 th century staircase - one...

Nice little hotel right on the Rhine River and a short walk to Old Town Basel. Our only complaint is that because of the age and historic nature of the building, there is NO AIR CONDITIONING and we just happened to be there on the hottest day of the summer. They do have large fans that help with the air...

Dear "Vinnie B" Thank you very much for your review. We have indeed no air conditioning, which may be difficult if one is used to it. It really is only an issue during really hot days though, we hope you could enjoy a nice swim in the river Rhine to cover up for that. We are looking forward to have...
