I needed a hotel for a couple of nights in the centre of Basel and didn't want to spend a lot (Switzerland is expensive so this was a great price). It was in a great location, right near some good bars and restaurants.

I want to revise my answer to you due to recent changes in the tram schedules. I suggest you contact the hotel and they can better update you at the time you arrive into Basel.
