A lovely place just outside one of the town gates -- but there is a very busy street between the town and the Oasi -- try to get a room that faces away from the main street. I had room number 49 which has a lovely view of the town but it was quite noisy at night (because of traffic). If you are used to noise, it might not be a problem for you (or if you are OK with ear plugs at night). The staff were lovely and the place exudes peace.

I recently stayed at Oasi Sacro Cuore for four nights in July as the tour manager of an American group. We booked our stay through the excellent booking service Monastery Stays. Our group had rooms throughout the complex and I think overall, OSC met the expectations for our group extremely well. The rooms were simple in design which was refreshing and fit in well with the ambiance of St. Francis' hometown! Each room was very clean, had a nice bathroom with comfortable beds outfitted with fine linens. The breakfasts were nice and typical of Italy: rolls, sweet breads, cereals, juice and coffee drinks. After the second or third day some of my members would have preferred a change in the breakfast offerings - though this is Europe! Everyone managed just fine. We also dined as a group on our first night at OSC and the food was excellent and very well presented. I want to thank the friendly and hard-working staff at OSC for their kind attention during our stay: Lucia, Luca and Elisa. Thank you, thank you for a wonderful and memorable stay. The establishment of OSC is well-managed and a gem in Italy. The views from many of the rooms of OSC of the glorious Umbrian countryside with olive groves, birds, flowers or the town of Assisi was breathtaking and the terraces where members of our group could sit and chat and drink wine in the evenings make OSC an A+ establishment!!

We found this site on a monastaries and convents of Italy search. This is truly an undiscovered jewel. It was located just outside the entrance to the old Assisi town site. First, you save on parking because it is included. If you use a bus, the stop is just outside your front gate. The Oasi Sacro Cuore is a retreat location run like a hotel. Accomodations were very comfortable in rustic Italian buildings with flowers and gardens surrounding them. The front staff were incredibly accomodating. Genuinely friendly, caring and helpful tourist resources. Rooms were immaculately clean, newly renovated as far as we could tell, and the bathrooms were modern. Just a reminder that there are 2 single beds per room. As for more advantages, this accomodation was found on an acreage in absolute quiet, located somewhere between a garden and an olive grove. The views out of our windows were stunning - the entire Umbrian contryside in front of you. Our 2 children were welcomed and safe at all times. The best kept secret - join in their meal plan! Wow, probably the best meals we had in Italy for a very reasonable price. They have an in-house chef that prepares authentic local specialties and smiling servers that bring it to the dining room. So there it is, good news story from beginning to end and we can't wait to go back.
