My wife and I began to plan our dream vacation to Italy last February, and determined that for our first experience we wanted to experience the usual three destinations, Rome, Florence, and Venice, as well as spend added time in Tuscany. I was looking for something central and became intrigued with the photographs from Palazzo di Valli. The more I...

We took a bus from Firenze to Siena and the first thing that hit us as soon as we exited Firenze were the rolling greens with the olive and cypress trees. This nicely set the tone for a relaxing few days in Siena. The Palazzo di valli is snugly located a couple of miles outside Siena with a panoramic view...

The view from the courtyard/terrace has to be seen in order to accurately describe. It was relaxing, a great photo op, and a place to enjoy some wine combined with a serene atmosphere. The rooms do not have a "wow" factor but they are quite functional and go with the age of the facility. We walked most of the time...

We spent a night here on a short break in Tuscany. Great location just outside the old city walls, set in a restored villa - very clean and comfortable, with just a hint of faded elegance. Two real highlights: firstly, our host Giacomo, who was charming and incredibly helpful, offering advice and tips (including recommending a stunning back route through...

You feel as if you are staying in a villa in the Tuscan countryside except that the city center is just 20 minutes away by foot (and 5 minutes by minibus). The service is excellent and the views from the Terrace are quintessentially Tuscan. overall an excellent piece of property.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and would like to share our positive experience (1) Location and Accessibility Initially we were worried about the location as the hotel is about 1.5 km from the city centre and it appeared most of the people staying here are driving whilst we were using public transportation. It turned out not to...

I became a Trip Advisor fan when it pointed me to this wonderful hotel. It truly met all my expectations and my expectations were very high after reading all the Trip Advisor reviews. "A Little Gem," "Heaven on Earth" were sample headlines that attracted my attention. After a full week touring Tuscany with Palazzo di Valli as home base I...

This small but elegant hotel must have the best view of Siena and the surrounding countryside! We looked forward to eating breakfast each morning on the outside terrace near the lemon grove and lovely garden overlooking the rolling Tuscan hills. Our room was spacious and the bathroom was clean and adequate. The view from our window was spectacular! What was...

This must be the best hotel in Siena. An old small, elegant palazzo, it is situated in the most beautiful spot, overlooking the Tuscan countryside. It is so peaceful. It is very easy to walk or take one if the frequent buses into town. The proprietors are absolutely delightful: exceedingly helpful and friendly. They couldn't have done more for us....
