Our stay in Siena was for 3 nights-- with my mom, sister, and myself--I needed SPACE and most of the places to stay that I researched were very small. The apartments at Borgo Grondaie were perfect. I wouldn't say fancy, but true to the countryside-- very clean-- and plenty of room. Our apartment had a full bedroom and a sleeper...

We stayed at the Borgo Grondaie in October 2006. We spent two nights at the hotel and wish we could have stayed longer. On this trip we stayed in Lucca, Siena and Florence and this was our favorite hotel. It was absolutely charming. The hotel is more like a resort with a beautiful pool and olive trees dotting the grounds....

We stayed at eight different hotels during our trip in April 07. This was the highlight of our trip. We felt incredibly spoiled! This hotel offers apartment rooms with kitchens and a free community washing machine. They were very gracious. This would be a great hotel for honeymooners. The huge property is beautiful and quiet and the rooms are enormous!...

We were planning to spend 3 days in Siena this april to explore the city and drive around in Chanti area. The hotel is easy to find indeed and we were looking forward to our stay after reading the reviews on this web site. We were very disapointed with what we saw. The hotel overlooks the railroad tracks and high-rise...

Reading this review I’m more and more persuaded that my work is a mission: try to make people understand that good reviews doesn’t transform a 3 star hotel in a 5 star hotel. The person who wrote the comment arrived at our hotel disappointed because we are not located in the centre. As he booked trough a booking online system...

Just returned home from Tuscany & 3 nights in the Borgo Grondaie. This place is a fantastic base from which to explore Siena and the hilltowns of Tuscany. Excellent location near the train station in Siena (perhaps not walkable with luggage, though). Easy to find after a day of driving around Tuscany (follow the signs toward the train station). Clean,...

I have been meaning to write for some time because I rely so much upon the reviews of theTrip Advisor members and I wanted to be sure to get this in for those planning a summer holiday. I absuolutely loved the Borgo Grondaie! My family traveled from Venice to Florence and then to Siena in June, 2006. First thing to...

While planning my dream holiday, and after many months of indepth research...I happened to come across the Villa "Borgo Grondaie". And what a beautiful shining diamond to have found! Its a short distance from the walled city of Siena, but not so far as to be inconvenient in any way...less than 5 minutes by car...or by scooter...which is what we...

I picked all five of the hotels we stayed at in Italy for our first trip by using the reviews on TripAdvisor. This place was exceptional. It is not a hotel per se, and it is outside of town, but it is within walking distance -- if you are a walker -- and yes, you are close to the biggest...

We stayed for one night in Siena. Borgo Grondaie is a Tuscan villa on the edge of town. Bit of a walk, but easy to drive your car and park in the parking lots outside of old city walls. Room very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. So many different freshly made cakes and biscuits to choose from. The pear...

We loved Borgo Grondaie. It was a refreshing change from staying inside the walls as we did in other cities. It felt like being in the countryside, but was very close to the city. We walked to and from the center of Siena. In fact we walked to the train when we left. It is remarkably close, but better to...
