Our family had great one week stay at this beautiful place. The house located on the hill with super view on wineyards surrounding the place and San Gimignano towers. There is nice swimming pool at the property. Hosts are very friendly. For sure: perfect place to rest in the quiet atmosphere. Apartments are clean, well maintained and equipped. The place... More

Exactly what we were looking for as a base in Tuscany. Il Coltro was the perfect place in Tuscany for a respite during our 3 week visit to Italy. Mauro and Donatella are fantastic hosts, freely willing to provide tips for the area and recommendations for shopping and restaurants. Wished we had stayed there longer.

Our accommodations were very attractive and comfortable. The owners went way out of their way to welcome us and acquaint us with this area of Tuscany. It was more like visiting family than a mere rental. These people are charming and theycare about those they serve. We operated a bed and breakfast successfully for 10 years and know a little... We enjoyed three wonderful days here. Mauro was very attentive, and helped us find some great restaurants. Highly recommended ! It was the perfect base to explore Tuscany, better than the more populated towns nearby.

I was looking for a home base for our family vacation in Tuscany. A nice place that is at a reasonable driving distance from all important sites (Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Lucca etc.) that fits for a family. I found this one, and it was AMAZING. Excellent view, beautiful place, well equipped for a family (kitchen, pool, a few min.... More

A beautifully kept, relaxing base from which to explore Tuscany. All the apartments in this beautiful old building are slightly different but seem to be spacious and well appointed. These are apartments though, not a hotel. We were in a first floor apartment so if we wanted to eat outside we had to carry the food down a flight of stairs.... More

We were looking for somewhere to have a relaxing week, whilst being in an ideal position to explore Tuscany - Il Coltro couldn't have been more ideal and absolutely ticked every box...and then some! The property is a large villa divided up into individual apartments which are full of rustic charm. We stayed in Il Fauno which had a large... More

Tuscan country side living. Beautiful property and views. Spacious apartment with simple kitchen - more than enough for our needs. Nice pool. The owner, Mauro, is super nice and welcoming. We very much enjoyed ourselves. The location is great - close to San Gimignano and almost equal distance to Siena and Florence.

Il Coltro was recommended to us by a friend who has been visiting it for many years and we weren't disappointed at all. The location is just wonderful with a view across to San Gimignano and the apartment was comfortable and well appointed. Mauro & Donatella were very helpful with any queries we had. We had a very good dinner... More

I have to agree with all of the five star reviews, we had a lovely week at Il Coltro, just sitting by the pool and admiring the scenery with book and glass of wine in hand. The hospitality offered by Mauro & Donatella is warm & helpful but never intrusive. The accommodation is well appointed and immaculately clean.
