In the midst of appalling weather we stopped off for a coffee in the bar. Kind of put me in mind of Fawlty Towers! Service was haphazard, coffee was mediocre (probably some of the worst in Italy) and paying the bill took forever. Fortunately we weren't staying here!!

We love this town of San Gimignano and this hotel is in the main plaza. Everything is right outside the lobby of the hotel. The rooms are clean, the bathrooms are big with nice showers for Italy. The breakfast that is included with the room is quite good and the coffee is GREAT! They have a barrista making fresh lattes...

We just returned from Italy. We had a beautiful room with a spectacular view. We enjoyed our 3 nights and would definitely return to this hotel. Nice staff and the location right on the square made everything easy to walk too. We were there in September and enjoyed the night concerts and entertainers...took the night walk tour with Bruno Squartino...great...

I had looked forward to San Gimignano during our recent Tuscanny trip. The hotel was a big disappointment in that our room was stashed away with two others behind one of their dining rooms as if an afterthought. We had to walk thru diners to get to it. The floor was not clean and our narrow window looked out on...

We wanted to return to San Gimignano and chose this hotel for three nights. We parked in the Giubileo Parking (No. 1) as there is no parking in the town of San Gimignano itself. There is a P+R facility from here and it is well signposted. It would appear to be the least expensive option for parking, and the hotel...

You really can't get more central than this hotel! I agree with other reviews that the rooms are dated and I would defo suggest paying a little extra and getting balcony view over the hills at the back (we were on the lowest floor and although the views were spectacular you could only see them by standing on the step...

This is the second time I have stayed here and it is still great value. The views from the breakfast rooms are stunning and certainly worth staying to get the views! The location is wonderful as everything is within walking distance. San Gimignano itself is wonderful, it has the wow factor and although very busy during the day with day...

we stayed here for our honeymoon and the location was perfect. The actual hotel is a little dated and although my husband booked a superior room it had a shared balcony with 3 other rooms so people were wandering outside the window so you had to keep the shutters closed to get any privacy we moved to room 101 which...

We stayed at La Cisterna for the 4th time in May, 2013. This hotel is right in the Piazza della Cisterna, you literally walk out the door into the Piazza. Each time we stay here it is very enjoyable. The staff are all friendly (particularly Silvio at the reception desk) and they actually remember us although our stays are usually...
