We stayed for one night at the Grand Hotel Bonanno in Pisa in September. The hotel's position is conveniently central, about 5-10 mins walk to the cathedral and leaning tower, and 20 mins walk from the train station. As other reviewers have noted, you have to walk through an underpass under the railway to get to the hotel; it was...

Stayed here for 1 night as we were travelling around Tuscany. Near to Pisa airport and 10 minutes walk via the underpass (which is absolutely fine- there is graffitti in every city in Europe!) to the field of miracles. Lovely clean room with flat screen TV and nice bathroom. No problem getting food at after 9pm. Service a bit slow...

We first used the Grand Bonanno in March for a short visit to Pisa. We found it quite satisfactory so decided to stay six nights this time. We found many of the review comments quite unfounded especially "the underpass" and "railway noise". There is an underpass (safe) and one can hear trains but not so that you would complain! And,...

We stayed at this hotel for one night as we had an early flight from Pisa the next morning. The hotel is situated just by an underpass covered in grafitti which made us wonder whether we had made a mistake. Once inside the hotel is comfortable. The female staff however are rude and miserable and have no customer service skills...

The only thing wrong with this hotel is the staff, they do help you but they make you feel like they are doing you a favour (I'm talking about checking in, serving at the bar etc. not carrying big heavy bags!). We had a nice comfortable corner room, spacious, light and clean. There is a train line at the opposite...

My husband and I were moved to this hotel after our original hotel had double booked us. It is a 20 minute walk into town through deserted and grafittied streets. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. We wont stay here again.

Stayed for 2 nights and couldn't have been better. We arrived very early (10.30) and knew we wouldn't get a room yet. The young man on reception was very helpful - not only offering to store our bags while we explored but also pointing us at the washrooms in the basement where we could change and freshen up - nice...

We were fortunate to find this hotel on a late deal so paid half the normal rate. This is an excellent gem of a hotel, clean, friendly, efficient, comfortable, stylish. The restaurant served glorious food at a bargain price, the breakfast was high quality, varied and delicious. It is only a ten minute walk to the tower. Do not be...

Only 10/15 min walk to the Leaning Tower. Found staff to be very polite & helpful. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent and there was an excellent selection of food at breakfast.

Found out it is relatively easy to get to from train station after we decided to walk there. Took about 1/2 an hour strolling. Could have taken the Red bus most of the way and walked down the street to hotel - probably 500 metres. Once there everything is presented really nicely. Very warm welcome at reception. Rooms are modern...
