Lovely hotel set within the walls of the beautiful town of Lucca. The rooms are spacious and clean. Our room was on the 4th floor and overlooked the Main Street so it was a little noisy in the evening and early morning with the windows open. There’s a nice bar area downstairs and also outside seating. The breakfast was adequate and hot choices are available on request. It’s a shame the Hotel does not offer meals other than breakfast . The staff are very friendly and attentive to your needs. I would recommend this hotel to others.
I stayed in San Palace Lucca Hotel for 3 nights as part of a 3 week Italy tour. This hotel is old world charm with high ceiling rooms and comfortable linens, spacious Bath and great, great, great Location! I arrived one day early for my group tour and I felt comfortable and the staff , especially Simone, was exceptionally helpful, professional and welcoming. You are 2 blocks from the great wall that circles the entire town and right on one of the main streets into town. This was one of the few hotels in all of Italy that had wine opener, glass wine glasses, and easy access to pick up great cheeses, cured meats and great wine!'' The rooms have a very antique decor, with old world charm! I plan on coming back again with better weather to bike the city but I did walk the entire town via the raised walls, and had easy trip into Pisa which was well worth it!…
Fab hotel housed in an old building (from 16th century I think), the hotel has an old-world charm without being dilapidated. the only negative is that we only stayed one night. Location is awesome, just inside city walls, close enough to walk to everything, but far enough from the melee. The staff is great and service is excellent across the board. Rooms are large and nicely appointed, bathroom was great and had fluffy towels and a big shower. Breakfast was awesome, a huge selection of food and drink, from fresh fruit salad to bacon and eggs, great tea selection. On-site parking was easy and they’re pet friendly. Overall I can’t recommend this place highly enough, we made a note to stay here next time we are in Lucca. Good hotels focus on the details and this place is great.
This is an excellent hotel, within the walls of the city. The rooms are very spacious and nice. The staff is extremely helpful. The breakfast provides a good start to a day of sightseeing. We highly recommend this hotel.
Fantastic hotel! Rooms felt like you were really in a Palace. Very quiet. Super front desk staff and outstanding Bartender in the bar! Breakfast was everything one could ask for, with nice happy staff. Location is nice and walkable from Train station. Only comment was I had to ask for an extra blanket each night. The bath was extremely nice and probably the first time I have found washcloths in an European hotel. Good wifi, if you are not far way from the hub. So if that is important then ask for a room near it.
the hotel is situated just inside the walls of the old town ;not quite centrally but everywhere is easily walk-able. The ancient palace seems to have opened as an hotel in 2007 but its style is more 1897. Our junior suite was large with a high ceiling. Lighting was on the dim side and needs improving. Our bed was a super king and firm. The pillows unfortunately were brick hard. There was a large flat screen TV but as far as I could determine no channel in English (the Italians seem to dub rather than subtitle anything not in their language). In any event why watch TV when Lucca is so beautiful Decent sized bathroom with a strong shower. The hairdryer is in the bathroom so expect frizz. Good breakfast selection Very friendly and helpful staff
The hotel is situated just inside the walls of the old town. It apparently opened as an hotel in 2007 but the style is more 1897. Our junior suite was large with a high ceiling. lighting was somewhat on the gloomy side and needs improving. The super king size bed was firm. The pillows unfortunately were rock hard. Decent bathroom with a strong shower. Hairdryer was located in the bathroom encouraging frizz. Large flat screen TV with scores of chanels but none of them English and the Italians seem to dub rather than subtitle. Good breakfast selection. Helpful friendly staff
We enjoyed our stay at the San Luca Palace Hotel. Our very spacious room looked out onto one of the walking streets yet there was no noise from the streets when the windows were closed. Just a few steps away were excellent restaurants, bakeries and shopping. I took the walking tour of Lucca which was very good. From the hotel, you walk less than 2 minutes and are right on the city walls which encircle the town. Breakfast was nice, but not spectacular. The reception desk and bartender were very helpful. My friend hurt her leg and we needed ice and they gave it to us every few hours, in fact reminded us we needed it. This is an older hotel, but it was refreshed but with the older look. The bathroom was OK but nothing special. Room enough to do what is needed. I would definitely stay here again if I come to Lucca.…
Well it waits to be seen how long the San Luca will retain its wonderful ethos of customer satisfaction as long as it has. But the customer can get used to the wonderful treatment by staff at the desk in the bar and in the breakfast room. We dont want that to change. I am only going to say stay here before it does change as often as you can, whether you are visiting Lucca or Tuscany more widely. I love the shower! Its reviving me for another circuit of those fabulous walls. However I put in a plea. A lot of English speakers were staying here. Me for one would welcome the quality of the channels range on TV to match the actual TV size. Thats the only change. No more required! Please ask me directly for more
