We had a wonderful holiday for the three days of Christmas. The beautiful room, heated, lots of space and all the things you need to experience every comfort, even a kettle with tea and coffee bags, a mini-bar, full! - First time in years! The manager, Marta, is an extraordinary and very kind hostess, we didn't miss anything.
Comfortable bed, a breakfast for every taste, and especially the location - in the center of the most important shopping street in Lucca; Outside the gate there were all the Christmas lights and installations, particularly bright this year. Lucca remains open for all three days of Christmas, nothing is missing, I recommend a visit to the A Palazzo Busdraghi hotel every day of the year, fantastic!

We stayed in the apartment, separated from the main hotel and really enjoyed the accommodation. Great attention was given to maintaining the ancient vibes of the building while updating the space nicely too. It enters from a private doorway on the main corridor in Lucca, between a cocktail bar/cafe and a gelato shop. No elevator so you have to climb a few tall flights to get to it. I would knock off half a point if I could for the shabby shape of the two couches and the worn mattress, but they were clean and we slept fine so I will give them that. Please note; you hear EVERYTHING going on down on the street and as stated, it’s in a very bustling location with folks dining, drinking and very often shouting just below the bedroom windows. The noise goes late and starts again very early with trash trucks banging around etc. I can’t stress enough that it is noisy and there is no option to get away from it save to sleep in the bathroom. Lucca is all stone and masonry with narrow corridors so even regular speaking level voices echo and reverberate loudly here. I didn’t ding any points for this because it didn’t really bother us but I’m positive it would be unacceptable for people who require quite. The kitchen was nice but very sparsely stocked, where even the addition of a sauce pot to boil water would have been very helpful. We made it work with the little that was there and compared to the US, groceries were extremely cheap so it wasn’t a big deal to have to get our own salt, sugar, etc. We left those things behind so maybe the folks after us will be a bit better set up. The opportunity to cook for ourselves was very welcome and there’s a great little market just around the corner where we got lots of what we needed. There’s also a couple grocery stores within easy walking distance. The central location makes it easy to walk to everything we wanted to do on our 5 days in Lucca and there’s even a self serve laundromat near by. We were amused that it’s immediately facing the Museum of Torture and the mildly grotesque signage for that, but some folks may not appreciate that so be warned. The proprietors could easily make this space so much nicer by removing the busted old electronics instead of just setting a tiny new tv in front of the huge busted old one, but whatever. We were able to catch up on Netflix and we were content.

Stayed for a week in this lovely B&B. Situated right in the middle of the classy main shopping street. Fabulous shops. Plenty of pavement cafes and historic places to visit. The hotel is quiet as the street is mainly a pedestrian thoroughfare with just the occasional vehicle. The hotel room was nicely furnished….quite a hard bed, but not uncomfortable. Really clean and cosy. Special mention to Marta and Ingrid who went above and beyond to help and advise on places to eat etc, etc. Two very kind and friendly hosts. Amazing breakfast with huge assortment of pastries, fruit, cereals and savouries. The very few downsides…. 20 steps to get up to reception. No tea/coffee making faculty in room (would’ve been nice after a day sightseeing) No shampoo, just soap dispensers. Watch out for the odd step on the wooden floors, they could do with a warning strip to the edges! No garden area to sit in. Still worth 5stars.

Our first stay in this small hotel. Well located and managed in a friendly style. Enter through heavy wooden doors into a courtyard then 20 steps up to reception. Our room was on the (Basically traffic free) mail street. The en-suite room was quite simply furnished but comfortable with two large arm chairs. Breakfast offered a good selection of cold meats, fruit, bread - far more than adequate and good strong coffee or a selection of teas. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nights. Great value !

We loved this hotel. Only 8 rooms, so very quiet, and free from street noise although it is on one of Lucca's principle shopping streets and close to restaurants. The room (and bathroom) were spacious and comfortable; furnished and decorated in keeping with the historical period and gracious proportions. The bed was comfortable with crisp white linen. Ingrid and Marta were enthusiastically thoughtful, informative and responsive to every need. The breakfast was typically continental (ham, cheese, fresh fruit, cereal, bread, jam and cake!) with excellent and plentiful coffee. I have some mobility issues but found the 20 steps from the entrance hallway to reception perfectly manageable (with a refreshing blast of cool air from the air conditioning unit on the landing halfway up.) Highly recommended - even in the heat of summer.

Had a really enjoyable stay and Marta is the perfect host. The room was really comfortable and the breakfast was excellent, especially the freshly squeezed orange juice. Marta recommended some excellent restaurants close by and was very accommodating and switched our room when we had a slight problem with the first room we stayed in. Would certainly stay here again and would definitely recommend. Lovely stay.

Lovely host, great location, good rooms, but be aware you are on the main pedestrian street in Lucca, so on a busy night, there is more than a bit of noise until the early morning. I wouldn’t want to leave the bedroom window open and plan on a good nights sleep until well past midnight.
Marta was incredibly helpful, and booked restaurants and anything else we asked her to organise . Location is perfect, less than 5 minutes walk from the centre of Lucca. Recently renovated, the B&B really works well, if you’re comfortable that ambient noise might be quite late, this is a winner

The staff are delightful in this 9 room ‘old school’ gem just inside one of Lucca’s ‘portas’ making it fairly easy to park and get rid of your vehicle, which you want to do in the small streets. It is well-located for walking to all the sites and shopping. Well-appointed spacious rooms, lovely breakfast presentation and quiet. The only drawback for some may be the lack of elevator and steep staircase upon entry. Very enjoyable stay.

The best thing about this hotel is its location, right in the very heart of the city on the main shopping street. Surprisingly it was not even noisy at night, even though we were over-looking the street. The room was large and comfortable; the aircon struggled to cope really but was OK (perhaps might not if it was really the heat of the summer). Breakfast was typical Italian and more than adequate. The private parking was convenient (but costs €15 a day). One note of caution: the hotel is located on the first floor of the building, and is accessed by a steep flight of stairs; there is no elevator(lift). And inside the property there are several small flights of stairs. This would not be suitable for elderly or infirm visitors of if you have heavy bags to bring up.

This was a beautifully restored residence in the center of Lucca, inside the walls, on the main shopping street. Marta and Ingrid were great hosts and Marta's breakfasts were extraordinary. The beautiful (and heavy) wood entrance doors revealed a wonderful courtyard shared by the hotel. The rooms and bathrooms were updated but preserved the original architecture. This B&B was centrally located within walking distance of Lucca's sites.

to give you an idea of times!

Hallo,
you really don't need a car. It's very easy to move by train or by bus. To Pisa trains are going every half an hour and will not take more than 30 minutes to arrive. Also Viareggio (on the sea) or Florence are easily reachable. We will help you then with the time table.
Kind regards,
Ingrid
