Enjoy your stay in Lucca!
We chose the hotel for its location close to the walls of Lucca, the pool and the parking. The hotel was a little sterile and certainly didn't have the charm of other hotels where we stayed. That said, we had a nice lunch, relaxed by the pool and found it very easily. We walked into Lucca which was very impressive.
From a warm welcome to not wanting to leave, we had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay with Ina and team. Great service, comfortable room, excellent breakfast buffet, relaxing pool with refreshments on tap - what more could one want! It is clear that this establishment is run with love and attention to detail, thank you for a fabulous stay!
All the staff without exception were excellent. They couldn’t have been more help, efficient and friendly. Francesco went out of his way to help me. The setting, the breakfast, the location were great. All in all I could not recommend it highly enough.
This was our 2nd leg of touring Tuscany on our own before our cruise. The hotel is very nice. Our room was very small but quiet and comfortable. We had a pool view. Comfy bed. No dresser or drawers but plenty of shelf space. Good a/c. Then we walked into the bathroom. That's why I give San Marco a 4 instead of a 5. First of all, there is no vanity space. It's a pedestal sink. There is a small glass shelf but that's it. Each morning I had to bring my "stuff" from the bedroom to the bathroom. But that's not the worst part. Immediately when you open the door to the bathroom and walk in, there's a high step. Who puts a step in the bathroom?! I had to bring a flashlight to make sure I didn't trip over it in the middle of the night. Other than the bathroom, everything else was great. No problem parking right across the street. Breakfast was very good with pancakes, meats, cheeses, fruits, cereals. Location was good. We were told about the "tunnel" leading into the old city and it really was a shortcut. So, maybe a 10-15 minute maximum walk. The staff, also, is what makes this place great. They will help you with whatever you need. I would definitely stay here again but, maybe, only if they take the step out of the bathroom.…
As already mentioned all the staff in the hotel were fantastic but a special thanks to Maria who went that extra mile to find me a walking stick when she found out I had a problem with my leg. The reception guys were only to glad to advise local restaurants etc and nothing seemed to be much trouble. One day because of the problem with my leg I couldn't leave the hotel and got talking to the South African staff member [sorry didn't get her name] who although I never asked her came out with a lovely food platter that was greatly appreciated. The room was cleaned to a very high standard. The location I thought was ideal because within a 10 minute walk you can get away from the hustle and bustle within the walled city and food and drink seemed to be much cheaper outside the wall. Having breakfast in the garden by the pool was lovely preparing for the day ahead. Will definitely be going back to this hotel when we visit Lucca again. Only thing I would say is that it would have been nice to have tea/coffee facilities in the room Well done San Marco…
This hotel is ideally situated close to the lovely city center of Lucca, but in a quiet zone. The building and furniture are brand new, large windows make it very bright, the staff is super kind and helpful with everything you need, you can park your car at the hotel and the breakfast is good. A good choice!
The hotel is conveniently located in quiet neiborhood just few minutes from the city walls. With a surprise : taking a back road you get to the field that runs around the walls, crossed by a path that apparently goes nowhere but.. wait, there is a passageway through the walls ! We experienced a warm welcome, a modern hotel, a nice, quiet, room and an excellent breakfast, really remarkable ! Definetely a place where to stay at a good price.
This hotel is located about a 5 block easy walk from the wall and we spent 3 nights in a nice clean, comfortable room with an excellent bed and free car parking. All the staff are professional, informative, helpful and go above and beyond in service. The breakfast is one of the best we’ve had in terms of variety and the coffee is amazing.
We spent three nights here and everything was perfect. After having an issue coming into Lucca (toll booth ate my credit card), Francesco immediately offered to help, made a few phone calls, and was able to help me retrieve the card right away. Then I realized I booked the wrong room, and Francesco again quickly set us up in the room I wanted. And he gave us a gift too! The breakfast was great, service was incredible, and rooms were beautiful and well appointed. We also used the bikes they had and they were like new. Would absolutely stay here again.
The staff at this hotel were just wonderful...every one made us feel so welcome, Francesco was so helpful and friendly. Very clean, excellent food, wonderful atmosphere, every need catered for. Loved the pool and terrace area where we had breakfast and lovely lunches. Definitely recommend this hotel.
