We stayed here in July whilst on our Italy road trip. We used a total of 6 hotels/apartments during our trip but this was our fave. The family room was huge with two rooms inside so the kids had one room and us another and a large bathroom, table and chairs and all ammeneties we could need. The staff were very helpful circling places of interest on a map so we could find our way around and breakfast was full of options for all 4 of us to have a happily full stomach before a long drive :) would love to visit again in the future.

I stayed in this hotel as a group for one night, our destination was the Viareggio carnival. The hotel is not in the city but very close and convenient for getting around. What is most pleasing is the thorough cleaning of the common areas and the rooms which are large and comfortable. The bathrooms are also large, with a nice surface to put things on. Perhaps the shower cabin is a little small. The beds are just right soft with a light duvet specific for the season and double pillows in the wardrobe. The service staff were really friendly and helpful. The only thing to review is the catering. Lunch was a bit "cheesy" and breakfast was also not poor but not well looked after. There was no fresh fruit, lactose-free products (for me who am allergic) and gluten-free products (for my celiac friend).

My wife and I are currently staying at this hotel for 4 nights. Although we were aware that the hotel is some distance out of Lucca, the reality of how far hit home when we arrived 😩 It is around a 40 minute walk into Lucca which neither of us can manage due to mobility problems. Sure, there are 2 buses an hour into town but these stop running at 8.00pm. Taxis are apparently few and far between in Lucca, we managed to get one back to the hotel at around 9.30/10.00pm last night - more through luck than judgement and it cost €20 one way making this an extremely expensive location for a Lucca holiday, unless you have a car. The hotel looks very fancy from the outside and the ground floor/reception area is lovely but the rooms are very basic and utilitarian with no home comforts at all. They make a Premier Inn look luxurious by comparison. We very quickly realised that this hotel is geared up for the business travellers or coach parties. not casual tourist like ourselves. The staff are OK, not overly friendly and finding someone who could speak English was a bit hard at times. Restaurant menu limited and expensive. Would not stay here again or recommend.

I thoroughly enjoyed this hotel. The rooms are huge, very spacious. It is modern and clean. Beds are big and very comfortable. We requested rooms with interleading doors, which they provided. The bathroom is also big and modern. As we were with a tour group, at dinner and breakfast we were restricted to only certain tables in the dining hall which we could occupy. Breakfast does not cater adequately for vegetarians.

I recently stayed at the BW Grand Luinigi for 2 nights, the hotel has a very nice reception and bar area as you walk in, check in was quick and easy. The room was very spacious and clean, a nice view over the mountains from the windows. A small mini bar with water was topped up daily. I did not eat dinner at the hotel only breakfast, this was served by one of the hotel staff as you entered the breakfast area. I am always up early so had no problem, but i could see quickly long que's were forming as more guests came down for their breakfast. I could see some people getting annoyed at the wait. The bar are is nice with an outside seating area, I have to say though the service is very slow, quite a long wait for drinks when it was not busy at all. Location is good for visiting the walled city but also a good location for work. I would stay again if in Lucca.

Just stayed here for 2 nights. It was nice hotel. Wonderful lobby and elevator. The room is nice and big and bathroom. There is also a breakfast but when we came at 8:15 am there is a line of people until outside. For the social distance inside i guess. The place is not open but it is ok. So in end i didnt take my breakfast. At 2nd day i woke up so early for the breakfast and around 7am there is only few people inside.so i went there and the food is ok. To be honest i was supriced there is a lot of tourist here. This hotel is very busy in summer. I guess because it is near to visit the town of Lucca and Pisa.

Stayed for 3 nights as part of a Riveira Tour of Tuscany. Efficient front desk, checked in quickly, and had a good sized room on the second floor, overlooking fields at the back of the hotel, so very quiet. Hotel is fairly large, modern, part of the Great Western chain, about 2Km outside of Lucca, ideal for touring as facilities appeared fairly basic (E.g. no swimming pool or spa). Breakfast reasonable - buffet style with usual selection of hot and cold options although coffee from a machine is far from ideal! Dinner was good and service throughout was efficient and friendly.

Highly recommended! Safe, clean, modern.....Will come back for my next business trip. They also had a very nice setup for our dog. Although we had to pay 12 Euro per night, they did provide a bed, bowls, pads, food and some free gifts.

A very nice and modern hotel, with quite spacious rooms / bathroom. The breakfast was contactless with waiters serving with a small but qualitative variety. The lobby is a beauty with nice seating areas and it is locate 2 klm. from Porta Elisa (Historic Centre).

In October we had a wonderful stay once again at the Best Western Grand Hotel Guinigi. So many things make this hotel special but most of all it is the staff with their warm welcome and very efficient, professional manner. Nothing is too much trouble for them, whatever the request. As you can imagine this can make a lot of difference to the enjoyment of your holiday. We stayed in an executive suite on this visit but have stayed in standard rooms previously too. The rooms are spacious, very clean and cosy. Breakfast arrangements have had to change since the onset of the pandemic but a wide variety of food options are served by the very courteous and friendly staff. The only slight disappointment I can think of is the coffee from the machine which could be better. Everything else was perfect. We stayed for dinner on our last night and wished we had dined there more as we had an excellent meal. Many thanks to all the staff for your great kindness and courtesy.

Sorry we didn’t have a balconies, you either call reception and make sure you say which side of the hotel you’ll be staying or normally when you choose your room you get all this information. There is a sitting are at the entrance with nice garden - secured and secluded, garden furniture.
There are more places to choose from in the Lucca area.
