The relaxing atmosphere, the meandering river, the warn stone steps leading up to the rooms...we truly enjoyed the beauty and tranquility of La Martellina. Claudio was helpful, welcoming and spoke english! The room and bed were comfortable and clean, with a beautiful view of the olive trees. Breakfast was a feast of flavours! I couldn’t believe I ate olives for...

My partner and I found this place on Trip Advisor and thought it looked perfect for our 4 night stay to visit Florence and the surrounding areas. Upon booking, Claudio contacted us with details of how to get to the B&B via public transport, which was most helpful, as we were getting to Florence by train. The 14A bus runs...

My husband found this delightful B & B by doing some research. It's in a peaceful location along the river Arno. Parking is limited but is enough however once we'd arrived we didn’t need the car. Just up the road you can catch the bus to Florence. They run very frequently. Claudio who runs the B & B is a...

The accommodation was not super clean but the owner was so charming and made us feel so welcome. Definitely worth the stay if you want to visit Florence and stay in a relaxing atmosphere. Thank you for the great experience.

One of the most unusual B&Bs we have come across. The mill, around which the house is built, dates from the 13th century and is attractively furnished in an old style. A very comfortable bed, in which you will be lulled to sleep by the Arno rushing over the weir. An ample breakfast is served from 8:30. The polyglot landlord...

A gracious host - unique and lovely building - I mean, it's like a castle with good heating/cooling and up-to-date amenities. We stayed in the Salcio double this year and the tower or turret room last April. Both were beautifully decorated and had extraordinary bathrooms. The Duomo is less than 30 minutes away by bus during rush hour. Why would...

Claudio welcomed me late in the night when I arrived introduced by a friend and he managed for me one of the best rooms I have ever slept. The place itself is gorgeous, outstanding in one of the most outstanding areas in the world. Then the fairy gate opened and I was led to the '200 tower atop of a...

My Wife and I stayed at La Martellina for a couple nights in the middle of a two month long trip throughout Europe. After flying in and out of major cities, La Martellina was a breath of fresh air. Located just outside Florence along the Fiume Arno, one can easily ride bikes along the river into the city (which is...

Claudio's home is beautiful, right on the river and away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but a quick and convenient bus ride to Florence. My favorite part was the amazing breakfast every morning- eggs, pastries, cheese, charcuterie. I would love to return one day!
