Our room was in the tower with 3' thick stone walls but we could still hear the rushing river Arno outside. It was awesome. The stairs to the tower are spiral, steep and narrow...we were fine but heads up! Claudio, our host, is awesome too and presented lovely breakfasts with buns, fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, good coffee, fresh juice, muesli,...

My husband and I spent a marvellous days in Florence years ago and La Martellina was the place where we chose to stay. We had the best host and an amazing breakfast everyday. The B&B is pretty well located and had a beautiful view. We really enjoy it and without a doubt will stay here again.

The B&B is well kept and very comfortable. The owner was very warm and waited for us till we arrived which was around 1am. All rooms had wonderful sights of the river and breathtaking views. Will definitely suggest it and will go there again! :)

We were in Florence in July 2015 and stayed at this unique property. Claudio was the best. Prior to our vacation he sent information on traveling Florence that allowed us quick access to all the sites we were interested in seeing. We only had 2 1/2 days to get our site seeing done. Not a lot of time if we...

This place is really amazing. It is so well preserved and decorated, that one might feel like experiencing a past era. It is nice and quiet, on the bank of Arno river, a big courtyard, with decorative orange and kiwi trees. Our room was small and cozy. As we stayed during winter, in the rest of the house might be...

This was our second time at La Martellina, and we can't imagine Florence without it. The B&B is perched on an old mill right on the banks of the Arno just outside of the city. It's a short bus ride into town, but you won't regret getting out of the center and having some fresh air. The breakfast is outstanding...
