Stayed here for one night on a whisltestop tour of Italy. The hotel is an amazing building, only recently converted from a private house into a hotel. The gardens are amazing and huge, right in the centre of Florence with the added bonus of an outdoor pool & Jacuzzi which our boys used. 10 minute walk to all the main...

Sometimes people have the wrong preconceptions about the Four Seasons group - that the hotels might be in some way bland or too corporate - and to emphasise how wrong this is you should visit this wonderful hotel! It has kept all the character of a grand Florentine palace but added on supreme comfort and the usual Four Seasons impeccable...

We were seeking King Sized accommodations for our trip to Tuscany. Four Seasons Firenze did. It disappoint. This hotel is SPECTACULAR! With the largest private garden in Florence, there is abundant space to relax and repose in the heart of Florence. The lobby is stunning. From its formal decor, soaring ceilings, and cozy spaces to sit for tea or an...

This hotel has been on our list for some time but this year we made it and had a wonderful time. The hotel website totally undersells the gardens of the hotel which in fact are the 2nd largest in Florence. Our main concern was driving to the hotel and managing to find it in central Florence but we needn't have...

Stunning historical building, furnished with amazing taste in a classic fashion. Everything is spotless. The garden is pristine, with golfcourt-like grass and centennial trees. Amazing view of the duomo dome from our windows. Food is just amazing at the Palagio restaurant. Just a minor issue with the espresso served at the bar... 7€ for a barely drinkable espresso. Luxurious without...

This is a great hotel. Service is impeccable, rooms are very spacious, and the communal areas are beautiful. The whole building oozes beauty and history. The park is unbelievable. Full marks. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel if you want to experience Florence at its best.

Room was elegant and clean. Service was top notch as expected for a Four Seasons property. Food could definitely use improvement, but that might be a function of the region not the hotel specifically. Real star of the show if their "park" property behind the hotel which is perfect for a stroll in the evening, also their central location an...

Wonderful pool, fabulous bar and not too far from all the main attractions in Florence. Recommended for couples/friends. Beautiful fairy lights under a willow-type tree with decking give this that extra something special for couples, and the setting and facilities are everything you'd expect from a Four Seasons Hotel. They get the 'italy' and 'quality' aspects just right, and the...

We stayed at the Four Seasons Firenze for the first time this past August. It immediately has become one of our favorite hotels in the world. The Executive suite we had was perfect for us. The bed was extremely comfortable as was the sofa bed in the living room for our teenage son. The bathroom was spacious and there was...

For my birthday this year my amazing boyfriend spoiled me as we dined at the Four Seasons after having stayed there last year. The service was dreamy ..attentive..joyful and enjoyable. Dining room is impeccably perfect like a Kings palace. From the servers to the sommelier everything was perfect! Emmanuel Selvaggi, the hotels manager really made the night extra special and...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
