We thoroughly enjoyed our stayed here - it was probably our favorite place to stay during our entire trip! Our room was large, clean, and very comfortable. Max and Bea were very helpful - providing restaurant recommendations, making reservations for us, and ordering a taxi when we needed it. The breakfast was great and offered a variety of things to... We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The B&B is in a neighborhood, convenient to everything yet not in "tourist central". The rooms and entire residence are beautifully decorated. The best parts are Bea and Max, super hosts with a wonderfully helpful and friendly air. They helped us arrange a tour of the Duomo at the last minute, which turned out... More

Bea & Max were excellent hosts & the rooms we had were beautiful. This is a family owned & run establishment with unique décor & excellent free wifi. Finding the property on arrival is a little challenging as there are no large markings but looking on the old brass wall plate alongside the huge entrance doors all is revealed. It... More

Max and Bea run a nice B&B. This older apartment is well kept and decorated in antiques to match the age of the building. The hosts are very friendly and helpful....although they don't remain on site, they were there when I needed them. They were very responsive to emails and in-person requests. Breakfast was sufficient but nothing to rave about....consisting... More

I loved this place. Bea, one of the owners, greeted me on my very first day with a very kind welcome and lots of help for finding my way around Florence. The room is spacious (I had the Umbrella Room) and comfortable (a mini-fridge stocked with great drinks, a jacuzzi tub, wood floors, comfy firm bed, and windows that open... More

Residenza Casanuova is located on the outskirts of the main part of Florence and is a short walk from everywhere you want to go - museums, galleries, shops, markets, supermarkets, trattorias, restaurants, pizzerias and gelaterias. The residence has been owned by the same family for several generations, and portraits of grandparents and great-grandparents are on the walls and sideboards. Siblings... More

Residenza Casanuova is an oasis of serenity, civility and grace, by far the best place I have ever stayed in Florence during my many visits in the last 40 years. My week-long experience was in perfect sync with the positive comments by other reviewers about the kind hosts, the tasteful decor, the charming terrace, and the location in an authentic... More

We stayed here for three nights during our stay in Florence and had a triple room. The room was sizable even with the extra bed. We stayed in December when Florence is free from the madding crowds and seems more Italian than in high summer. Very comfortable, good-sized rooms. Max and Bea are very helpful, considerate hosts. They recommended a good neighbourhood restaurant nearby.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
It's actually our guests' opinion that highlighted our best. Residenza Casanuova... Like at home! Our property is the real bed and breakfast, the house originally belonged to our family, it is the place where since 2005 we offer accommodation and breakfast for our guests. We love to share with travellers our home and all the useful information or secret corners of our city, so that our guests can really live Florence like a Florentine. Elegance and care With the restoration of the apartment we maintained the original size of the rooms and the beautiful forniture and details that characterize them, thanks to our family's heritage: the room with the umbrellas, the one with the hats, the mirror from Murano, the old boxes... Our guests, when the weather permits, gladly enjoy our terrace for relaxing at sunset, maybe with a glass of good Tuscan wine. Delicious and rich home made breakfast We personally prepare and serve it in the dining room of our home, until late in the morning, allowing customers the choice and variety of typical local food. When requested, we purchase the right items for those with food allergies or intolerances. Free services Our guests greatly appreciate to find for free some amenities as the drinks in the room's fridge, cappuccino and tea facilities with a kettle, Wifi internet throughout the guesthouse with no charge. We also provide upon request, for museums', excursions or other activities booking, before our guests arrive in town. Ancient building... Modern comforts The palace where we are, dated 1871, is one of the few, in the center of Florence, having the elevator. The entire house is equipped with air conditioning, wifi internet connection, each bedroom with private bath and all the needed amenities. Centrally located but you can drive to our guesthoue! Our location is in the center of Florence, near the Sant'Ambrogio fresh food market, 10 min. From the Santa Croce basilica, close to restaurants, shops, entertainment venues, all really within walking distance, but we're still reachable by car because at the border with the restricted traffic zone. The neighborhood offers several parking areas at approx. €20,00 Per 24 hours. ... more   less
