Detailed Reviews
We enjoyed our stay at Portrait Firenze. As it was our first time visiting, we appreciated the central location and its proximity to the other side of the river to explore different neighborhoods such as Piazza Santo Spirito. We felt very welcome upon arrival, and we enjoyed the included breakfast (based on our room rate) each morning. We noticed a variety of guests staying there—couples of all ages, families, etc. Being a fan of Salvatore Ferragamo, it was v enjoyable to see the integration of the brand in the room decor, toiletries, and more. We had free access to the Ferragamo museum though ran out of time to visit it unfortunately. Our hotel card provided 10% off at various sister hotel locations, too, such as La Terrazza. Compared to other hotels where we stayed in Italy (also 5 star), Portrait offered the most pre-visit communication which was certainly a prelude to the high-touch concierge approach from all staff — (versus just one or two go-to concierge). Because we already purchased your tickets and planned excursions, we did not need to take full advantage of the concierge offerings; but it was obvious that if someone needed assistance planning or replanning their entire Firenze stay the concierge would 100% be able and willing to help. The only mild disappointment was that we could hear conversations of other guests through the main bathroom wall, and we heard a lot of slamming (doors? the room above? was unclear) at various points in the evening. That said, things seemed to quiet down at some point in the evening until the next morning; and we didn’t complain to the staff, as we chalked it up to the age of the building and part of the experience. The turndown service was good, and they provided a complimentary bottle of water each evening. In summary, we appreciated how welcomed we felt throughout our visit.

Portrait absolutely lived up to its reputation as the number 1 ranked hotel in Florence. The location could not have been better on the bank of the River Arno, next to the Ponte Vecchio and walking distance to the key sites in Florence. Stylish and modern decor, as you would expect from Ferragamo, but luxuriously detailed in all the rooms that managed to perfectly balance style and function with real comfort.
But what made everything truly special was the staff. None of the airs and arrogance that some luxury hotels exude, the people at the front reception were just so lovely and helpful to all of our family - all requests were taken care of promptly and all their restaurant recommendations were amazing. they went as far as telling the restaurants about our family so when we showed up, we were greeted by name by the owners and seated in lovely locations outdoors. We were so grateful for all the little things that they took care of - the Ferragamo family would be very proud.
All in all, an unforgettable and magical experience in Florence.

I can honestly say that we had the most magical experience at Portrait. The staff was so warm and inviting. The room was spectacular. Our concierge gave us such wonderful recommendations for nearby restaurants. We are Italian and wanted to play tourist for once. It was an absolute dream.
We stayed in a suite facing Ponte Vecchio. There is no better way to wake up In the morning. I also wanted to note that there was sanitizer everywhere, rooms were spotless and we felt safe during Covid.

It was a great experience during our stay in this hotel, the location was great and close to almost everything as the staff was very helpful and patient and they helped us a lot especially those at the front desk in organizing a trip to the outlet and it was suitable for us as a family with two children. In the end, it is sufficient for the luxury of the hotel to be owned by Salvatore Ferragamo. I do not forget the staff (Selena, Baha, Vladimir) and all the crew do not remember their names.

The hotel is in the heart of Florence which is an incredible plus as you can just go outside and see Ponte Vecchio. That is about what I think this hotel has in terms of good things.
We booked at a time when only a few rooms were available and at a pretty high price so we stayed in a Portrait studio. The room is very small and cramped with a table and chairs that didn't help with the cramped feeling. However, everything looked clean and the decoration is ok. Because our room faced the alley, we could hear the restaurants below early in the morning getting ready so the noise was on the heavy side. If you are not an early morning person, make sure your room doesn't face the alley.
We had one instance where we didn't want our room cleaned so we had the 'do not disturb' sign; however, that didn't seem to deter housekeeping from coming to our room. The sense of privacy was kind of destroyed by this situation.
Where we had most of our complaints is at their restaurant Caffe dell'Oro. The service was slow and not focused on the right things (i.e. cleaning or fixing empty tables vs helping customers). The food was not that good either in comparison to other restaurants around the area.

We just spent 5 nights at the Portrait. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect! The location of the hotel is terrific. Our suite was wonderful with a magnificent view of the Ponte Vecchio. The suite-wide Bluetooth sound system was something we had not experienced in a hotel room before and it was great!
The staff was exceptionally wonderful-always greeting us as we came and went from the hotel. The food at breakfast and at dinner was delicious. I have a food allergy, and they were gracious and accommodating in making sure that my meals were perfect for me. I want to especially acknowledge the chef, and restaurant staff members Miriam and Claudia for their exceptional service.
We highly recommend this hotel, and will definitely stay there the next time we are in Florence!

Stayed here 4 years ago when visiting my son and LOVED it. In midst of 21 day honeymoon and during Italy itinerary there was never a doubt where we would stay while in Florence. This place is as good as it gets. From the moment you arrive (personalized service) to the food, bar, location and attentive staff and room, the Portrait cannot be beat.
Rooms are exquisite. The bedding, pillows, sheets, furniture, sound system, views and technology cannot be surpassed. The towels - oh the towels! My wife never wanted to leave the huge bathroom. No need for spa services. They have it all.
I have traveled 100-150 days a year for 23 years and this hotel is definitely in my top 5.

Our suite with the view of the river and the famous bridge Ponte Vecchio was very quiet despite the throngs of tourists walking by all hours of the day and street music playing at night. The staff was welcoming and accommodating. Breakfast was great and the restaurant is truly a gem! The food was the best we had in Italy and innovative. We wondered why it was not packed as all the other restaurants nearby seemed to be. The museums, the Medici gardens, churches, shopping, and eateries were all within short walking distances. Owned by Ferragamo, the hotel even gave us a 10% off coupon if we shopped at Ferragamo.

I have been very lucky having chosen Hotel Portrait Lungarno Collection for our stay in Florence. This is our first time traveling to Florence with accommodation, having no clue on standards of luxury hotels here, I just searched on a booking site, after comparing the various 5 star hotels, I have chosen Portrait based on the location, view and price, although I was not familiar with Lungarno Collection.
Reception area is very cozy and greeted by helpful and efficient staff. The room we stayed is with a splendid view over looking the river and old bridge, spacious and conveniently located with brand shops and tourist attractions within 15 minutes walking distance. Elegant amenities are provided in room and facilities are user friendly.
Last but not least, we have to thank the duty managers Caroline, Raphael and Ariel who have been taking good care of us during our 4 nights stay. Much appreciated with the thank you note by Ariel written in Chinese.
We highly recommend this luxury hotel in Florence.

I have stayed in the superior suite river view a couple of times on the fourth and the fifth floor and the noise was not really an issue even on New Year’s Eve.
It’s a city construction if you stay in the hotel you Don’t hear anything!
Our suite had a small balcony with fabulous views over the river
We booked a deluxe studio room. It's got plenty of room with a separate living area and its own wet bar/kitchen and a clear view of Arno river and Ponte Vecchio but unfortunately does not come with a balcony.
